I want to ask dh to buy me a really good travel coffee mug for Christmas. So asking for recommendations. Here's my requirements;
leak proof
Keeps your coffee warm for a couple of hours
Non fiddly/easy to open (I have weak wrists)
approx 300-350 mls
Doesnt make coffee dribble everywhere when you drink from it!

I browsed them in John Lewis the other day and most looked rubbish.

Contigo.

I've found more or less they all stay hot for longer when you "preheat" them with boiling water for a few minutes - then tip out hot water and fill with coffee.

Yeti Rambler with hot shot lid - pricey but worth it.

mumofpickles · 04/10/2022 17:38

Contigo.

Another vote for Contigo, my last one lasted 7 years.

HappyHedgehog247 · 04/10/2022 17:41

Boden. My partner has had his for 12 years!!! He converted me. They keep the drink hot for hours and are leak proof so you can screw the lid on and chuck them in a bag. They’re strong so don’t break and metal so clean well.

HappyHedgehog247 · 04/10/2022 17:42

Bodum! I mean. Sorry.

autienotnaughty · 04/10/2022 17:44

Costa smart cup is a cost friendly option

Imissmoominmama · 04/10/2022 17:45

Yeti. Keep your drink hot for hours!

eatsleeplaugh · 04/10/2022 17:50

Smash coffee cup, amazing! It's been upside down in my bag is totally spill proof and coffee can be warm up to 4 hours later. I got mine from Argos.

Corkcicle Commuter Cup. Ceramic interior , leakproof and lots of the colours are dishwasher safe. I love mine

Contigo. Mine still going after 8 years and still no leaks.

Malfi · 04/10/2022 18:18

Contigo or Camelbak. Both keep hot for hours and never leak.

Ballsaque · 04/10/2022 18:19

Contigo West loop.

nearly all my colleagues use them. Leakproof even upside down in your bag.

I bought one of these last week as my Contigo was too big (should have chosen a smaller one) and I'm very impressed so far.

MissyB1 · 04/10/2022 18:36

Working my way through the reviews for all these, thank you! I need to be realistic about how and when I will use it, whether I want to be able to put it in my bag or not.

Always Contigo BUT I also have a thermos brand and it keeps my coffee hot until late afternoon. Downside of thermos is the sippy bit is really designed for cold drinks.

LozzaChops101 · 04/10/2022 18:41

I have a Klean Kanteen double walled 12oz thingy (not glamorous but bomb/leakproof and a Hydroflask 12oz job. Also leakproof, but worry about the paint coating. Hydroflask is nicer to drink from!

OverTheHillAndDownTotherSide · 04/10/2022 18:55

I have a snapfish one. You can have it personalised with photos and it has a carry handle. Simple design. Keeps drinks hot for hours. Non spill. Brilliant.

often on offer too.

ChessieFL · 04/10/2022 18:57

Another vote for Contigo. Mine is about 5 years old, keeps drinks warm for hours, and never leaks even when chucked in my bag.

Worriedwait · 04/10/2022 19:01

Definitely Contigo. The only downside is that you need to let your drink cool a bit before you put the lid on, or your tea will still be scalding hot hours later.

(I also discovered that they make excellent ice lolly storage for summer picnics!)

CMOTDibbler · 04/10/2022 19:02

Contigo for me. Easy to drink from, not fiddly, thermally efficient, lasts for ages

downtonupton · 04/10/2022 19:22

I have tried many, including many listed here - but I like my Bodum ones the best.

can always find them in TK Maxx

Madcats · 04/10/2022 19:25

I've had a Contigo West Loop for 8 years (we now have 3). It fits in car cup carriers (though we have an elderly German car - others might had bigger spaces).

On average I probably use it 3 days/week. I lob them in the dishwasher so the coloured outer didn't last.
