I want to ask dh to buy me a really good travel coffee mug for Christmas. So asking for recommendations. Here's my requirements;
leak proof
Keeps your coffee warm for a couple of hours
Non fiddly/easy to open (I have weak wrists)
approx 300-350 mls
Doesnt make coffee dribble everywhere when you drink from it!

I browsed them in John Lewis the other day and most looked rubbish.

I forgot to mention that I am often sat at swim meets for a day (so hot and humid). The Contigo is great for filling with icecubes and a bit of cordial too!

Contigo are great. I've not find another that washes, doesn't leak, doesn't weigh too much full, keeps warm and doesn't mind if (when) I knock it over.

I’ve got a thermos one that keeps it hot for hours. I have to let my coffee cool down a bit before I pour it in, otherwise it’s still too hot to drink hours later. This one: thermos.co.uk/superlight-direct-drink-flask350ml

Contigo - had mine for nearly 8 years, so good someone at work nicked it.

I love my Nespresso Nomad. Can literally chuck it in my bag and it doesn't leak even if upside down. Keeps coffee hot for a good amount of time and looks nice!

Whatever you buy, if you're going to use it in a car make sure it fits in the drink holder.

Madcats · 04/10/2022 21:44

OP (and we are down to nerdyness), how/where are you planning to carry this mug?

If you plan to carry that Le C one upright at all times, crack on (assuming reviews say that it works). Lobbed in a bag that clip for the mouthpiece will probably flick off.

I've been there and done that (but not recently)

I think I will be carrying it in a side pouch of a rucksack, or literally carrying it in my hand.
The sho ones are a funny shape, look tricky to carry and may not fit in the car.
A lot of them are bigger than I need too.

I gave DH a Contigo for his 75-minute morning commute.

After a week he begged me to make his breakfast coffee 'lukewarm' because it was still nuclear too hot to sip by the time he pulled into the office car park. Those things work.
