What does your teen boys carry their money around in?

Wallets? Coin purse?
Mine just seem to put their money in their pockets and then are surprised when they lose it! They have fabric type velcro wallets. Was thinking of getting them nice leather wallets for Christmas, but wallets don’t seem to have coin pockets anymore. Timberland wallets with coin pockets are quite pricey.
Any current cool brands?

Cards mostly, any cash in pockets. They wouldn't use any kind of wallet or coin holder. 🙄🙄

Choopi · 02/10/2022 07:06

A card in the back of their phone cover.

Sheepwalker · 02/10/2022 07:06

Not a teen but DH carries a small cardholder with cards and it has a folding pocket for notes. Coins loose in his pocket.

He just uses Apple Pay on his phone.

SheilaSazs · 02/10/2022 07:20

Mine used their phone to pay when he was a teenager.

Frith2013 · 02/10/2022 10:05

They use Apple pay.

Beetr00t · 02/10/2022 10:13

Yes, Apple Pay! Can't remember the last time he or I used cash.

SoupDragon · 02/10/2022 10:14

Yes, Apple Pay here too.

I think DSs did have a wallet before Apple Pay took over though.

Chasingsquirrels · 02/10/2022 10:14

Hr has a wallet but doesn't carry it round, just uses his phone to pay.

1099 · 02/10/2022 10:15

He has a shoulder bag thing, apparently it's all the fashion.

SoupDragon · 02/10/2022 10:16

I've also ditched my purse and cash in favour of a small card wallet and my phone.

NiteNight · 02/10/2022 10:17

They should carry an emergency tenner inside their phone protection cover (everyone should).

Savingpeoplehuntingthings · 02/10/2022 10:18

Card in back of phone, odd bits of change in his pocket

TheTurn0fTheScrew · 02/10/2022 10:18

Those little tiny cross body/ sling man bags are quite popular here

I have a £10 and €10 in my phone case for emergencies.

DS uses Apple Pay for everything though he's gone on a school residential with £10 cash in his pocket today.

Afonavon · 02/10/2022 10:21

Apple pay for 3 out of four of us. The other carries a loose card in a rucksack 🙄

dingbat56 · 02/10/2022 10:22

I only buy things with zipped pockets now !

MrsSkylerWhite · 02/10/2022 10:22

Uses applepay mostly. Has wallet with emergency cash in backpack.

PugInTheHouse · 02/10/2022 11:02

Apple pay, he has a wallet at home he keeps cash in but just takes out what he needs and will put it in the back of his phone or his pocket.

HoppingPavlova · 02/10/2022 11:03

Mine all had proper leather wallets at that age but mail not used their phone to make purchases where possible.

watcherintherye · 02/10/2022 11:09

Never seem to use cash. It worries me that their whole life is on their phones, but anything else is regarded as an encumbrance!

BarbaraofSeville · 02/10/2022 11:12

Lots of young men seem to be carrying what looks like a handbag these days, which is interesting now that a lot of women don't bother any more.

If they carry coins at all -rather than leave them laying around all over the house or just drop them-- they seem to like to carry them loose in their pockets so they can jangle them as some sort of irritating comfort activity.

I'm not sure that 'nice leather wallets' are actually something that teen boys and young men actually want or will use tbh.

Sorry OP.

BeyondMyWits · 02/10/2022 11:15

Phone with a smart pay app, with silicone back cover, room between phone and back for driving licence for id and emergency tenner. All older teens (and many adults) I know seem to do this.

FrankTheThunderbird · 02/10/2022 11:17

DS1 use

Beezknees · 02/10/2022 11:17

My DS is 14 and has one of those slim Gucci crossbody bags. Was a combined Christmas/birthday present as they're not cheap but he thinks it's the coolest thing ever.
