Central London restaurant that’s not super expensive

Central London restaurant . On a Saturday night. Ideally fish and steak. Looked at loch fine but didn’t realise it had shut. Hawksmoor looks mega expensive as it’ll be for 5….and DH paying.

No one really goes to the Lord Mayor’s Show. Last time it was on, I just happened to be near the Museum of London and wondered what the noise was, but it wasn’t noticeably much busier on the streets.

I was on a float last year and the route was lined the whole way.

Sorry, just seen zedel's is fully booked.....
We went to the Lebanese place in Leicester Square a few years ago - just up from the Lego shop on the other side....oh, it's closed 😦

There's plenty of nice restaurants at Westfield in white city.

Great thread thank you... Have booked Brasserie Zedel... Does anyone know a Flatiron that's easy to get to from the Olympic Park (Abba Show) we're staying in Covent Garden but there's no space there or Marylebone...

@Mother87

Try kings cross. You can take the 6 ish minute train from Stratford international to st pancras. Walk to flat iron

And then after dinner take the Piccadilly line 2/3 stops to covent garden.

Love Riley’s too. Also Sarastro on drury lane

Zedel’s sister restaurant is the Delauney. It’s more Covent Garden and I can’t remember but might be a bit more expensive.

Just to jump on to a thread with people who know London.

Would it be bonkers to attempt the Museum of London during the Lord Mayor’s show? We are there Fri-Mon for the remembrance parade and I planned for us to do the museum on Saturday the 12th, which I’ve just found out is the LM show 🙄
We are staying at The Mad hatter near Blackfriars bridge, which is closed that day, we can walk across millenium bridge but presumably it will be heaving around St Pauls?

Is it a really bad idea?
We could go on the Friday I suppose but don’t get in to Euston till 11.50, add on another hour to get to the hotel etc. and not sure if it’s worth it?

Agree with the others this will be fine, just give yourself extra time in case roads closed etc. and I would assume the last bit of your journey to it would need to be on foot, don't rely on normal bus service as routes may be disrupted and build in enough time and energy for walking!

Delaunay definitely more expensive than Zedel. One of our favourites though
