Shameless cake boast - I'm so pleased with my beehive cake :)

Just finished DS1's birthday cake and it was a logistical nightmare (white chocolate not setting properly, bees on wires waving all over the place)

He's interested in bees at the moment and has chosen a trip to a bee farm for a birthday outing, so I decided to try a beehive cake! Am so pleased with it (and relieved it's all finally stable, I ended up using the hard sugar flowers I made last week to brace the bee wires into place!)

It has to be kept hidden until Thursday, and I'm excited, so I thought I'd share it with you lot! It's striped yellow and dark chocolate cake inside, with honey buttercream

Beautiful cake! I thought DS1 meant he was age 1, and was very impressed that he had chosen to go the the bee place himself 😂

Ohhhhh I read DS1 as him being one can tell I'm still sleep deprived with a 2YO!

Even better that he is such an age, he will appreciate it so much more than a child desperate to get high on sugar.

I did, I made the bees and flowers about a week ago so they had time to dry and harden
