how gorgeous is Greece?
Half a century old, travelled all
over the world and never been before.
I can't imagine going anywhere else
now. Cant believe I left it so long.
Crete: so beautiful!

Kefalonia is my favourite island, followed by Corfu.
When the kids have left home I’m going to spend a whole summer travelling the islands.

Adore Greece. I've been to several of the islands over the years. In 1999 me and DH went to Samos and said we'd found out happy place. We've been back there so many times since and went back in June for the first time since 2019. It was so lovely to be back. We've made many friends there and we feel instantly at home. It's perfect.

We're cruising next year for both of our big birthdays and belated Silver Wedding trip, but we're trying to see if we can afford a cheeky Samos week in June/July just to get our fix.

Currently in Kos, today we took a boat across to Nisyros. Absolutely stunning. The volcano 🌋 is fantastic to see

Just don't go to Malia, Crete 😂I'd never heard of it when I went to Crete in my 20's, was travelling round a bit and someone recommended it. I arrived there and left the same day, just a hideous place, everyone was British and 18 - 25.

I've shortlisted Syros! Which area is a place you might recommend we stay? Is it good for teenagers?

Love this thread ! Want to take my recently widowed DM for a surprise holiday .. need quiet .. nice restaurants.. away from too many bars and parties - any recommendations where to stay ? Went to Santorini years ago loved it
