Monkeys Or Tanks?

I'm off to Dorset. They have 2 big attractions. There's Tank World right next to the Monkey Museum. Which one should I go to? Tanks are cool but I've been there twice. Monkeys are nice but I'm not sure they're tank-nice, but as I've not been to the Monkey Museum I'm not sure.

Tank World has excellent Dorset Apple Cake.

Which one?

Always choose the option with good cake.

HairyMothballs · 20/09/2022 16:56

You mean Monkey WORLD, not Monkey Museum Grin. I've been to that and the tank place, and I think monkeys and apes are far more interesting than any tanks.

UghNoTime · 20/09/2022 16:58

Neither. Monkeys are creepy and tanks are creepy too. Go to Kimmeridge bay and look for fossils.

Mysterian · 20/09/2022 16:58

Swings and roundabouts isn't it?! Monkeys are interesting to watch climbing but tanks have far better armour.

I'd go for the one I hadn't been too, unless I'd been to similar elsewhere recently.

StirredNotShaken00 · 20/09/2022 17:35

Been to both, very underwhelmed with the monkeys, much preferred the tanks.

gingercat02 · 20/09/2022 17:38

Monkeys all the way. They have Gibbons and baby Orangs at Monkey World. What more do you need?
Tanks no thanks 🤣

User478 · 20/09/2022 17:43

The playground at Monkey World is immense!

Useyourfork · 20/09/2022 17:47

Banana Ice cream at Monkey world😋

iklboo · 20/09/2022 17:54

Encourage the monkeys to stage a break out and drive the tanks. Double win.

I did think a monkey museum was a pretty odd concept 🤣

Please do this!

savemeagin · 20/09/2022 17:59

I'd do neither and go to Tyneham village instead. It's was abandoned in the war. Beautiful village and stunning scenery.

FaintlyMacabre · 20/09/2022 17:59

Monkey world. Definitely.

AllThingsServeTheBeam · 20/09/2022 18:05

I thought you meant tanks as in fish tanks Grin

Now I know you mean armoured tanks... Monkeys all the way

PorkPieAndAPickledOnion · 20/09/2022 18:07

The tanks are fabulous, and the monkeys are all a bit sad, especially the ones rescued from labs. And I say that as someone who generally has no interest in military stuff, and loves animal attractions usually.

The tank museum has in incredible recreation of the First World War trenches, which makes entry worthwhile on its own.

Evvyjb · 20/09/2022 18:12

I got married at the campsite between these 2. You could hear both. It was an epic weekend.

Thats all.

Somuchgoo · 20/09/2022 18:18

It would be so much better if they merged them.

Monkeys with tanks sounds fabulous.

ODFOx · 20/09/2022 18:25

Neither gibbons nor orangutans are monkeys. So Monkey world are misrepresenting their inmates.

Thus tanks, even though I have no interest in tanks.

True! Most are apes but there are monkeys too. They are pretty epic

LaQuern · 20/09/2022 18:48

Monkey world every time!!

Pengwinn · 20/09/2022 18:48

I was very underwhelmed with monkey world to be honest, but the ticket sales go towards supporting their incredible work I suppose. As you haven't been I'd recommend trying it though.

YesitsBess · 20/09/2022 18:49

Can we get the monkeys in the tanks? Because that sounds like a splendid day out.

Quveas · 20/09/2022 18:53

Monkey World is an internationally recognised rescue and breeding centre for endangered and abused primates. The tank place is redundant metal. Now which cause do you think it would be better to spend your money on?

And to add, add as a disabled person, Monkey World is one of the best accessible and disability friendly locations in the UK.

Yeahrepublic · 20/09/2022 18:56

Tanks are shit. 'Ooh, look at the machines we kill people with'

Go to the monkeys, they're brilliant.
