Does anybody else have this weird virus?!

My small DC's have the textbook sneezing and snotty noses you expect from children with a cold/virus but it appears to effect adults differently - I'm on day 3 of really bad stomach pain. No D and no V just this awful pain. It's worse after I eat and at its total worst at night time.

Anybody else?

I have been in bed since 1pm with this! It came on very suddenly, i was crying out in pain and had a fever too. NHS 111 online was telling me to phone 999 (I didnt in the end). It was excruciating. Was very bad for around 4 hours, got a bit better. Seems to be subsiding now although still tender.

Someone on here had this tested positive for covid days later. It sounds awful. Don't we have some glands in the stomach that viruses cause to swell

Oh I think I have had this. I thought I had pulled a muscle with coughing, then thought I had eaten too many eggs🤢. Stomach pain lasted for 3 days, agony when I coughed or sneezed and I actually had to go back to bed yesterday afternoon. Haven't done that for years.

I had this last week with covid. Actually gave me D&V though. My neighbour has the same symptoms with her covid this week too.

I've had this too! Last Saturday, felt fine all day, about 8pm started with tummy ache (which I never get) by 8.30 in agony. I was moaning with pain it was unbearable. Considered calling 111 but didn't. Lasted 3 hours then I fell asleep. Happened the next night too. Now just on and off but far less severe pain wise.

It came on very suddenly for me too.. it sounds like we have the same thing. Ditto the crying out in pain.

I said to DP if it's the same tonight I'm going to A&E. The pain is there but not as unbearable as last night or the night before where I was practically rolling around on the bed. I bought some omazeprole thinking I was getting a stomach ulcer and then made the link to the kids having a 'cold' and some pretty unpleasant nappies😐

Sorry to all of you who have/had this, it's horrible.

Interesting about covid..

I've had it twice before (positive tests 12 months apart) the last time being March. I think I'll try and get hold of a couple of tests. Gah.

Wow uncanny!

Its definitely the same thing doing the rounds then. I don't remember ever having something like this before. I had no idea you could have a 'stomach' bug without the D & V part.

Is anybody else going to test for covid?

I was supposed to be getting a call back from GP this eve as I called in this morning about being in excruciating pain. Lord knows what happened to that call..

Someone at work this week said they had stomach pain for a day or two and nearly had to go to A&E. Then it just went away. Strange! She's young and healthy by the way so it was unusual

I'm young-ish too (28) and relatively healthy. I'm so relieved to know it isn't just me. I've got myself quite worked up thinking something was really wrong.

Norovirus is about at the moment, could be that. I felt like I was having contractions with it

Can I join!! I was at a&e Tuesday the worse stomach pains, I thought something had literally burst inside me. But no other major symptoms just this pain.

I've tested now 3 times but negative. It's slowly eased off.

This has spread like wildfire through dcs school. Kids were coughing and sneezing but recovered quickly. Me and baby have had high temps; face pain, feeling sick and stomach pains. Dh has just started with it. It’s been a really bad, weird virus

Also not sure if related but perhaps worth mentioning as covid is known for it - my period hasn't come this month and I'm 110% not pregnant. Had all the period pains and no period.

I had that last week. Felt like flu. Had diarrhoea as a symptom too. Tested negative for covid but I'm convinced it was.

I've had this awful stomach ache burning up feeling bloated did A lateral flow which was negative now a week on and it seems to have passed. It was awful

I had this last Saturday too, mine turned out to be a uti, which had probably been prompted by the antibiotics I had to take for a sinus infection 🙄
im 10 days into having a blocked nose, sore throat, loss of voice , it seems to be the cold that keeps on giving .tested few times and negative.feeling really run down and I’ve tried every trick in book to get rid/feel better!
