I'm trying to plan my birthday food for next week and am getting tied up with making decisions. I have too many things I like!

So far I have breakfast and cake sorted Grin but am stuck for lunch and dinner.

Breakfast: deli meats, cheeses, warm buttery croissants, strawberries, nice juices etc

Lunch: ?

Dinner: ?

Dessert: I'm making myself a chocolate orange birthday cake because Waitrose have stopped selling the apple crumble cake I used to get most years. Rotters.

What would you plan for your birthday menu?

I do like posh breakfast out.

After that anything planned and sorted by someone who isn't me

Brunch: Eggs Benedict

Dinner: Fresh pasta with sage brown butter and a very nice bottle of wine. Followed by dense, dark chocolate cake with decent buttercream.

Done.

Breakfast: warm Croissants stuffed with melted cheese, Bucks fizz, nice strawberries with Greek yogurt and honey.

Lunch: homemade Lentil and veg chunky soup with crusty bread&butter, lemon meringue pie (a whole one) and a pot of tea.

Dinner: giant trough of arrabiata pasta, loads of parmesan, garlic bread, side dish of olives, diet coke. Chocolates.

We always have birthday pancakes in our house for breakfast. With bacon and maple syrup. Yum!

Brontosaurus · 17/09/2022 14:14

@MrsTerryPratchett Mmm that pasta sounds marvellous.

Eggs bene for brunch, and a seafood platter, fresh bread and a nice white wine for dinner, preferably overlooking the ocean.

Pasta pasta and more pasta

Breakfast: eggs Benedict
Lunch: something involving chips
Dinner: Chinese takeaway

And a box of Lily O'Brien's chocolates

DementedPanda · 17/09/2022 14:22

Not fussed on breakfast... maybe a soft boiled egg and soldiers. Lunch coronation chicken sandwich in nice bread roll. Dinner would have to be mussels in tomato chilli garlic sauce to start, steak, fries, asparagus with peppercorn sauce. No room left for dessert.

Aposterhasnoname · 17/09/2022 14:23

Bottomless brunch with champagne, eggs, bacon and pancakes etc. Dinner would be mixed Indian starters followed by chicken dopiaza and garlic naan washed down with lager.

classy bird me 😁

Breakfast - warm croissants with home made jam, Buck's Fizz and lots of coffee.
Lunch - not bothered maybe some cake or ice cream if out and about.
Dinner confit of duck, potatoes cooked in duck fat (I'm imagining myself in SW France) and french beans, and some Bordeaux to drink. A little assortment of desserts with coffee and maybe an Armagnac.

PolkaDotMankini · 17/09/2022 14:42

mackthepony · 17/09/2022 16:40

Full English, loads of coffee

Mid morning snack of a massive coffee and some date and walnut cake or some sort of raisin bran muffin.

Lunch would be big burger, fries, coleslaw. Diet coke. Slice of choc fudge cake and ice cream for pudding.

Dinner would be steak, baked spud, fancy buttered veg OR a chicken dupiaza with garlic naan and rice. Bhajis to start. Pud would be sticky toffee and double cream. Red wine. Maybe an espresso.

Woodsparrow · 17/09/2022 16:41

Breakfast; bagel, smoked salmon, cream cheese and avocado

Lunch; haddock chowder, would probably try to keep it quite light as I'd probably have too much cake

Dinner: a really nice, rich, creamy pasta dish with some red wine. Or a takeaway curry!

mackthepony · 17/09/2022 16:42

Oh yeah and I'd graze on those white choc chip chocolate American style cookies throughout the day

BeyondMyWits · 17/09/2022 16:47

Another vote for Eggs Benedict for brunch.

Then a couple of gooey white chocolate and cranberry cookies mid to late afternoon (fruit counts as one of your 5 a day right😁)

and a Chinese 5 course "banquet" at the posh restaurant in town.

iklboo · 17/09/2022 16:49

Breakfast - pastries or croissants & jam

ShirleyJackson · 17/09/2022 16:50

B - Buttermilk pancakes with berries and Greek yoghurt. Good coffee.

L - Nachos with homemade guac and salsa.

D - Blackened cod with rice and peas and some roasted broccoli. Or a Thai duck salad.

PattyMelt · 17/09/2022 16:51

Breakfast Big bacon and sausage baps
Lunch big salad that has crunchy lettuce, toms, cucumber, beetroots, cheese, avocado, ham, can't think what else.

OnTheRunWithMannyMontana · 17/09/2022 16:52

Ooh I like this game.

Breakfast - eggs Benedict and champagne

Lunch - ploughman's at the pub down the road (it's a goooood ploughman's!)

Dinner - rib eye steak, rare, sweet potato fries, onion rings, grilled tomatoes and peppercorn sauce.
