Can I share some good news, which I can't share yet IRL?

I GOT THE JOB!! 🥳

After 20 years doing the same job, I took a huge leap and applied for an internal role at my firm two weeks ago. Had first interview last Thursday, second interview on Tuesday, and was offered the role at 4pm yesterday.

I am absolutely delighted with myself. I've stayed in my comfort zone for SO long, knowing I could do better but being too scared to take the leap. I work in a lovely close knit team, which although is great, I can definitely see I've held myself back by not wanting to leave them. I'm a yes person and never want to upset the status quo, but this year has thrown up some big life moments and I just thought "if you don't apply for this, what will you do instead?".

I'm not allowed to tell my current team until next week and I've phoned my parents who are out 😄 so I wanted to share my good news!

Does anyone else want to share their good news today?

I've not really got any good news of that scale, but first day off in a while and have managed to clear my laundry basket!

Whoohoo, congratulations Op. I know how hard it is to push yourself out of your comfort zone, so well done on firstly having the courage to actually apply for the job and secondly on being offered the position. That's a great result.

Nothing to compare to your news, but I have cleared out a load of out of date dried food, I'm talking several years after BB dates, and just washed and dried all the containers by hand and wiped down the shelves. Feeling virtuous 😌

My secret joy to share:We paid off our mortgage this month. I've had a mortgage for 40 years so this has been a long time coming. Can't tell anyone as it seems boastful and tone deaf in the current climate. Feels good though !

Yay, well done you. That's great. My news is that I've lost 30lbs! I feel too embarrassed to tell anyone in real life as that would mean admitting I had that much (and more) to lose. But I'm really pleased. Another 30 to go though.
