If you were planning a 3 day honeymoon in November where would you go?

As the title says really. We were planning to go to Finland but when we went to book it today were told that it’s too early in the season to do any activities that we would have liked.

We don’t care about it being warm or cold but most places seem to be just a bit grey and rainy! We’d prefer to stay in Europe.

We want to do something that will feel special and more than a usual city break. Budget is 2-3k.

Barcelona?

Drivebye · 12/09/2022 13:49

Rome or Seville

RailwaySleeper · 12/09/2022 13:52

We spent a week in Scotland, ending with a few nights on Skye. Different weather every day, but lovely cosy evenings and beautiful scenery.

Barcelona?

This exactly what I was going to say!

ThreeRingCircus · 12/09/2022 14:18

Will it be too early for any Christmas markets? If there were any on I'd probably say Vienna or Prague.

SmellsLikeMiddleAgeSpirit · 12/09/2022 14:19

Also, maybe a 3 day mini cruise?

HundredYearsOfSolitude · 12/09/2022 14:21

How about Reykjavik? Lovely to visit for a few days, we stayed 2 nights in the Domes which were fab, they also do private tours to the Golden Circle. Highly recommend!

GinTonic123 · 12/09/2022 14:21

I think I would look towards Morocco. I know it is not Europe but would be something a bit special for a couple of days. Otherwise possibly Reykjavik (spelling?) .

Venice

Hoppinggreen · 12/09/2022 14:22

Seville

Olsi109 · 12/09/2022 14:22

We went to Paris on ours in November - they had all the Xmas markets on etc. was really nice

NoDairyNoProblem · 12/09/2022 14:27

Bruges.
Stay is Barabas b&b. Boat trip, markets, train to Ghent where you find Books and booze to test the small batch gin. Sanseveria for brunch is a must.

For 3 days I'd embrace the Novemberness and go for a cottage/ small country house hotel or similar in Scotland or the north of England, somewhere a little bit bleak and wild with a huge fireplace and an excellent pub and restaurant (or great gastropub) nearby.

Perpop · 12/09/2022 14:32

We stayed here, spectacular and beautiful coastline near by

I always feel as though travelling by plane takes most of the day whatever you do - are you talking 3 days and 2 nights? If so I think I would want to avoid airports. If it's 4 nights with 3 days properly there that's a bit different.

Yes 4 days and 3 nights. We’ve got a 10
month old that we don’t want to leave for too long.

I think that sounds amazing but it’s something we’re likely to do another time. I’m hoping for something we’d never do otherwise.

Iceland have an Airways Music Festival Thu, 3 Nov 2022 – Sun, 6 Nov 2022 centred on Reykjavik. I have been twice and its a wonderful experience. You can bolt on Blue Lagoon, Golden Circle and Northern Lights tours as well as whale watching. I love this place!

That looks amazing. We had a similar holiday a few years ago and it was bliss!

I think we’re probably leaning towards Reykjavik but maybe Rome or Seville if not.

That’s where we got engaged! We loved it. We’ve also done Prague and Vienna before. They’d definitely be places I’d recommend to other people for November trips.

Seville, it stays warmer much later than most of Europe. We had 40 degree heat in early October!
