Roz was definitely the best female character in Frasier!

I've been rewatching the series and Roz is the best! She's loyal, a good friend, gets frasier out of a good few sticky situations throughout. She's a great mum, especially raising Alice alone along with having her career.

She always got the short straw though and had her lively love life mocked. But I think she was fab!

Love Rob, a nice line in put downs too, she busts through the Crane pretensions

murasaki · 11/09/2022 19:15

Doh, roz.

I agree but I liked Daphne too, greatest series of all time, all of the characters worked.

Roz is great

ILoveMonday · 11/09/2022 19:20

It's my favourite comedy of all time.

I love Daphne. I love the fact she came from nothing and made a life for herself away from her family. Her relationship with Miles is also my favourite onscreen romance. He shows her what love really means whilst she teaches him to appreciate the smaller things in life. It's a classic on all fronts.

Desert76 · 11/09/2022 19:27

Love Roz, she gets some of the best lines.

’Aww, this reminds me of college! Staying up all night before your exams, and then wishing you’d studied instead’ Grin

bellinisurge · 11/09/2022 19:27

Roz is better entertainment than Daphne. That fake accent got on my nerves too much

UrsulaPandress · 11/09/2022 19:28

Best comedy ever.

Maireas · 11/09/2022 19:29

Roz was brilliant - she could be very acerbic and cutting. I loved it that she became station manager in the end!
I also liked Kate Costa, who was more than able to deal with the men at KACL.

Best comedy ever.

My all time favourite!

YourVajesty · 11/09/2022 19:31

Loved Roz.

She grew as a person but never really changed- she was independent, smart, and acerbic all the way through.

Unlike Daphne who just did a 180° as soon as she started seeing Niles. So annoying.

Rosewaterblossom · 11/09/2022 19:41

She was so independent and definitely grew as a person whereas daphne, although funny, didn't grow that much then married a rich man (niles).

I have to say that I also liked his Machiavellian agent, the wonderful Bebe!
"I know where the bodies are buried, darling, and usually that's just a metaphor"

stepfordwifey · 11/09/2022 20:00

I love going to the gym and finding there's an episode I've never seen. 30 minutes on the bike flies past. Bliss!
I usually detest slapstick, but Niles ironing his trousers and virtually destroying Frasier's apartment in the process is genius.
I rarely come across anyone who appreciates the series. My absolute favourite and nice to see this thread.
Can't choose between the characters- love them all.

Oh bebe definitely comes in as second! "Don't look into her eyes!!"

Love this series, one of my favourites. Bebe and roz are my favourite characters, but I like pretty much everyone anyway. Some of the episodes are pure genius!

RandomMess · 11/09/2022 20:07

DH and I love it we are watching the whole thing in order 💕

Eddie of course the most awesome character of all.

TugboatAnnie · 11/09/2022 20:11

I love them all except Frasier. He's just like Ross from Friends, boring, pompous and wants all the funny lines.

Maireas · 11/09/2022 20:11

@stepfordwifey - A Valentine for Niles! Absolute classic.
Also the episode where Bebe tries to marry the elderly millionaire!

TugboatAnnie · 11/09/2022 20:13

But why did Roz have such bad taste in men? I feel like her character was smart, funny etc but she was desperate for a man. Was the series written by men by any chance?

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 11/09/2022 20:15

You are wrong. She's not just the best female character, she's one of the best characters, male or female.

CoffeeBeansGalore · 11/09/2022 20:18

Loved this series. As mentioned above one of the best scenes with Niles trying to iron his trousers & creating a disaster. Hilarious & not a word spoken!

drinkfeck · 11/09/2022 20:24

I was reading an interview with one of the writers of frasier.

That scene with niles ironing was inspired by mr bean. People forget how big he was!

It was the sketch where mr bean got a turkey stuck on his head (which also inspired another American sitcom... and the writer was quite dismissive with how they'd just ripped it off!)

It's a genius scene. David Hyde pierce is really quite amazing in it.

Incredible series.

HideousKinky · 11/09/2022 20:27

I saw David Hyde Pierce on stage with Mark Rylance about 10 years ago - still very very funny, a wonderful actor

Deadringer · 11/09/2022 20:31

Roz was an amazing character, she really wanted a man, but it turned out she didn't need one. I love her. ❤️
