What snacks do you have when WFH?

All I seem to do is reach for biscuits or chocolate etc in the 3pm lull, which isn’t very healthy!

Fruit’s ok but doesn’t fill me up.

What do I need to buy?

I fast so don't eat after lunch but
Apple and peanut butter
Greek yoghurt and berries
Fruit and a handful of nuts
Boiled eggs
Ham/cheese/cold meat

You want some protein to fill you up

Hoppinggreen · 08/09/2022 15:26

All of them

Lightningrain · 08/09/2022 15:27

Apple slices and peanut butter
Rice cake with peanut butter
Greek yoghurt and berries with a sprinkle of granola or muesli
Pitta, crudités and hummus

All of them

Came here to say this...

dancemom · 08/09/2022 15:31

Sliced chicken or Turkey
Babybel
Protein yogurt

SenecaFallsRedux · 08/09/2022 15:34

Apples and aged cheddar
Chocolate when stressed
Lots of coffee

Cheeselog · 08/09/2022 15:34

Bags of roasted (unsalted) pistachios from Lidl. We aren’t allowed nuts in the office so when I am at home I get through loads of them!

AlisonDonut · 08/09/2022 15:34

Noooooooo

dont do it.

Don't start snacking when working from home, have some jam and toast or something.

The absolute best way of sticking to normal life is to stick to a routine. Trust me, I worked from home for 2 decades. Don't get used to the snacks.

MaryHoldTheCandleSteadyWhileIShaveTheChickensLeg · 08/09/2022 15:35

I don't snack. I just make sure I have a filling lunch.

Jam and toast is a snack though?!

DelurkingAJ · 08/09/2022 15:37

Too much chocolate. Then I buy chocolate covered nuts and try to persuade myself it’s healthier. I should just admit that I’m hungry at 3:30ish, have a slice of toast and butter and maybe a piece of fruit and not eat the same calories in utter rubbish over the afternoon.

mmmflakycrust81 · 08/09/2022 16:09

Can you have a later lunch?

mmmflakycrust81 · 08/09/2022 16:10

Pressed send too quickly.

I would have breakfast and then I am more likely to make a more nutritious choice for elevenses, a later lunch and then I can make it to dinner!

Same.
It's a slippery slope.

Beyondshit · 08/09/2022 16:12

I eat lunch as late as possible and then it's a proper meal and I try then not to snack!

Boring but the right thing to do.

AlisonDonut · 08/09/2022 16:13

GoodVibesHere · 08/09/2022 15:37

No it is the equivalent of an energy drink.

It is better than getting snacks in as you have to stop and make it.

Beyondshit · 08/09/2022 16:13

And yeah fruit makes fuck all difference to my hunger!

Proper lunch with lots of protein

PurpleDaisies · 08/09/2022 16:15

Intrigued how jam and toast doesn’t count as a snack.

I often have a crumpet with a slice of cheese on top, fruity oatcakes, banana and greek yoghurt with honey and nuts, small 100 cal bags of crisps.

Same here - eat a protein rich breakfast and lunch and don't snack. Make a drink, have a glass of water, etc. I sometimes eat lunch for breakfast!

rainbowandglitter · 08/09/2022 16:17

Jam and toast is a snack.

Carrieonmywaywardsun · 08/09/2022 16:19

PB on toast/rice cracker/Ritz crackers
Pretzels or trail mix
Choc or yog covered fruit
Meat of some sort- nuggets, sausage rolls, etc

ShandaLear · 08/09/2022 16:21

I like to have a big orange.

Spiider · 08/09/2022 16:27

Peanut butter and apple
fruit
Babybel
Cooked meat like Turkey / ham / chicken
cucumber sticks and hummus

maddiemookins16mum · 08/09/2022 16:32

In the morning I have a banana sliced up with a wee bit of peanut better on it. In the afternoon (about 3), I have a pretend twix.
