What mundane super power would you choose?

Something which other people can do but which somehow seems totally beyond you.

I would love to be able to organize my house as I go along rather than having a big sort out once in a blue moon.

I would also like to be one of those people who naturally makes friends with misc people they meet. The previous owners of our house were only here 2 years but they had a great social group including e.g. the guy who sold them rugs when they moved in.

I wanted to say the Mary Poppins cluck of the fingers to get DDs rooms tidy.

But more mundane... a bit of self confidence, being able to talk on the phone and to strangers etc.

Bundlesofchocforme · 07/09/2022 19:36

Being able to get DCs needs met with out being pushy or unpleasant.

barneymcgroo · 07/09/2022 19:38

The ability to remember ALL my passwords.

The ability to remember ALL my passwords.

I was going to say something about changing duvet covers but this is so much better

AppleCreamSlice · 07/09/2022 19:41

Swimming.
And having a group of good friends.

jumpingwithjoy · 07/09/2022 19:47

I'm the opposite of you op.
I need the ability to walk away and leave my house messy.

I can't start work or go to bed if my house is a mess. Everything has to be in order or I can't relax.

I would love to be able to just leave the dishes until the morning or not make the beds and not care about it and have a lazy day. I can't make myself sit down and watch tv without feeling guilty - there is always something else I could be doing.

This is not bragging, I don't like this part of me at all, it's exhausting.
So the super power I would like is a relaxing one please

tallwivglasses · 07/09/2022 19:48

The ability to raise one eyebrow. I'm so envious of people who can.

AnnotherReader · 07/09/2022 19:52

I would love to be able to read faster - I read a lot but I am slow, I could get through so many more books if I could speed up a bit.

Alternatively I would love to be one of those naturally athletic people who love to exercise.

Junobug · 07/09/2022 19:52

To have energy and be able to stay calm and focussed on very little sleep. I've spent all day snapping at children because I have toddlers that keep waking me up.

Imissmoominmama · 07/09/2022 19:54

@tallwivglasses - that’s what sealed the deal for me with DH.

Shallow? Me?

The ability to raise one eyebrow. I'm so envious of people who can.

I got stung by a wasp on my eyelid the other day. I looked quizzical for about 48 hrs - couldn't move my eyebrow at all.

(I can actually raise one eyebrow too - spent a long time in a traffic jam practicing)

Aria999 · 07/09/2022 20:07

Lol, I also achieved the ability to raise one eyebrow as a result of practice 😂

OP posts:
tallwivglasses · 09/09/2022 15:13

I've been practicing for 60 years - I can still only raise both eyebrows together (and I can't even do that without an involuntary flare of the nostrils)

@imissmoominmama not shallow at all - excellent taste

tallwivglasses · 09/09/2022 15:14

Any tips?

SunThroughTheCloudsAt6am · 09/09/2022 15:23

I can do the eyebrow thing, but I would absolutely like the power to click my fingers and things be clean - clothes, cups, floors whatever.

I hate cleaning.

NerdyBird · 09/09/2022 15:32

Reverse parking, my brain just won't compute it.

Aria999 · 09/09/2022 15:33

@SunThroughTheCloudsAt6am that would be totally awesome.

To cook. I’m rubbish. Even if I follow a recipe it ends up looking and tasting like shite.

WhatHaveIFound · 09/09/2022 15:48

I need a few more hours in each day, well 5 would do it so the ability to be in more than one place at a time. Didn't Hermione achieve this in Harry Potter?

Echobelly · 09/09/2022 17:49

To be able to wash grease off plastic - whenever something oily gets on something plastic that I have to wash up, no matter what I do, I can't stop it feeling greasy!

dudsville · 09/09/2022 17:50

The ability to vacuum close into the corners and edges without having to get out the tool for that task.

JamesWilbyFanClub · 09/09/2022 17:54

Happiness

Aria999 · 09/09/2022 18:02

@JamesWilbyFanClub 😢 I hope you find it

The ability to time a fry up. I'm an excellent cook and a good baker; none of the individual components are difficult. I just can't get them all warm and perfectly done on the plate at the same time
