Anyone got a nipple pierced?

Coming up to 40 and fancying doing something a bit rebellious. Have been thinking about it on and off, have read posts on here from years ago, seems some people take them out after a while?

Anyone love theirs?

OP posts:

I had both of mine done about three years ago. I had intended to get just the one, but at £35 and two for £45, I got the deal lol. I was 35 at the time, and haven’t looked back.

it does hurt and make sure you look after the piercings.

Feel free to PM me if you need :)

I’ve been meaning to get mine redone as my boobs ballooned is pregnancy and the thing nearly popped out all by itself, then I breastfed and I think it’s closed up now as I can’t get the bar back in.

I loved mine so much! However beware if you decide not to wear a bar - I once had a backless dress and long necklace, I fiddled with the necklace and caught the nipple bar, bloody hell it hurt like mad!

TheseusScamander · 09/09/2022 23:21

I had both done some years ago. Most painful piercing I’ve had and I’ve had a lot, including a VCH…. Still in for a penny and I knew I couldn’t just do one as you end up with nipples like one fruit pastille and one fried egg.

Hated them. Yes, they looked great, but being of larger norkage they rubbed on my bra constantly, caught in the lace and never really became un painful if that makes sense. I think I stuck it out for about four years before admitting defeat and removing them.

Go down the VCH route instead. Less painful, more benefits 😉

Ooo following! I'm interested but do a lot of running so slightly scared if it would be a disaster....

Lzzyisgod · 09/09/2022 23:28

I had one at 43 and love it. Didn't find it painful at all, daith and naval were more troublesome.healing wise for me.

I have just the 1 done but I like asymmetry 😁

NeverDropYourMooncup · 09/09/2022 23:33

Don't get them done in winter.

Cold air and a new piercing is quite something.

Also make sure you have padded soft/sleep bras, remember to pat dry after a shower and BURN any shower scrunchies before your appointment.

Whatwouldscullydo · 09/09/2022 23:48

I've had mine years..I love it. It is painful. As a pp said even more so that the CH piercing. Beaten only by the scaffold.

You will need ti be careful with clothing though. And I prefer to sleep in a sleep bra as an extra layer of protection.

Castaspell · 09/09/2022 23:49

I had mine and took out after maybe 6months as just didn't heal up fully. Apparently that's normal but I wasn't prepared for it.

Ooh I have a scaffold too and didn’t find that too bad tbh. It’s a pain in the arse now and I frequently catch my hair brush in it, coupled with the daily ritual of untangling my hair from it, but I do love it. I would love the other ear done too but really don’t like the idea of several months interrupted sleep again 😂

Have to say the VCH was probably the easiest in terms of pain and the fastest healing. Obviously the biggest problem with it I find is plucking up the courage and putting aside the embarrassment.

I had one of mine pierced 18 years ago still love it and have a bar in it. Had the other done 4 years ago. Nearly 27 and no plans to take them out. I didnt find the actual piercing painful but would echo pps advice to not get it in winter.
I found my scaffold the worst but going to get that redone after losing the forward helix part again catching hair in in it or knocking it when washing hair.

Perpetualstateofchaos · 10/09/2022 00:09

37 not 27. Wishful thinking

Flatmountains · 10/09/2022 02:24

Many years ago, I had one done. It went bad, and I had to ask a piercer to take it out for me. Later I had it redone and it went bad again, funnily.

Introvertedandalone · 10/09/2022 06:26

I had both of mine done this year (I’m 36). It hurt A LOT and I’ve had lots of other piercings. I swore very loudly. But it’s healed really well and I love them. I’m single and no one sees them except me, but I like knowing they’re there. It’s a bit like wearing sexy undies, you know no one else can see them but it makes you feel a bit fancy. I think it’s easier if you have bigger boobs as they kind of cushion around the piercing in your bra. The woman who did mine had hers done and she had tiny boobs and no bra, you could see hers through her top and she said hers had taken ages to heal cos they rubbed on everything. But for me, when my bra is on my nipples don’t really move within it because the rest of my boobs support them. If that makes sense.

CloseYourEyesAndSee · 10/09/2022 06:29

I had one done and took it out after 4 months. It didn't hurt that much at the time but the long healing time got on my nerves and I got bored of not being able to do anything with that boob! It did look great though.

Nipple piercing are horrible. Really common.

"Common" is just a word that snobby people use to make themselves feel somehow superior. It's a bit of metal, get a grip on yourself.

I've got mine done OP, really like them.

Gosh I know, next people will be pegging washing out with different coloured pegs and wearing pyjamas in public, filthy commoners. Well done and a particularly excellent and forthcoming post

Smellyoldowls22 · 10/09/2022 07:56

Make sure you know exactly what a nipple piercing should look like (i.e. entirely through the nipple not the areola) before going, as these seem frequently botched.
Mine were and I had to take them out, but I did love the way they looked.

It's ok you don't have to look at it 😉

Love your name Lzzy I agree 😉

Nobody's asking you to suck on one.

I loved mine but they grew out. My body rejected them
