They are 6 and 8.

I'm going to drop them off and then go home and have a massive nap.

I'm excited.

Yes!!! I cannot wait for tomorrow to come, my DH is back at work as well and I’m going to potter and nap and eat snacks and be alone. It’s going to be fabulous! Enjoy your nap op Grin

My 4 year old starts Reception tomorrow and my boyfriend starts a new job and I’ll be alone for several hours a day . This is causing me severe anxiety and panic attacks , has anyone else experienced this ? I haven’t been without my child since birth and as a single parent for 3 years I’ve lost myself in just being a mum and no longer know who or what I am without being a mum . Now I’m scared to be on my own .

Ah I wish I was as buzzed about it as everyone else appears to be. My 4th daughter is starting reception tomorrow. When she was born I thought I'd be ok about it in 4 years. But I'm feel so useless and miserable..
Im seriously thinking about keeping her out (my other 3 didn't start until aged 7) or even having another.. wtf is wrong with me?
I feel I'll spend the six hours just waiting for them.. how sad : /

Can you take yourself out somewhere so you aren't home alone for the first couple of hours?

Window shopping or a coffee, cake and magazine? I even do the cinema on my own, quite a few women there in their own in the fast I find.

Ease yourself in, I was like that at first.

I am going to deep clean the house tomorrow and then relax on Tuesday! Will watch Miss Marple and do my cross stitch with no interruptions :)

It's my last day of annual leave tomorrow, DH is back to work and all kids at school.

I had planned on being totally lazy as my days off were firstly ruined by me being unwell, then once well a whirlwind of catching up on all the stuff I didnt do when unwell. But now I have errands to run in the city. Hoping I can get them done quick and enjoy some down time.

BearSoFair · 04/09/2022 17:50

It's just as exciting at secondary age. There might actually be food left in the fridge!!! Grin

MintyGreenDream · 04/09/2022 17:50

Toddlers, January.

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 04/09/2022 17:51

Oo I'm jealous. Mine are back tomorrow but I'll be rushing them off to the playground and running to try to get to work on time.
Thankfully I love my job but I would really love a day just to chill after the summer holidays!

EarlofShrewsbury · 04/09/2022 17:55

I work evenings and get home around midnight, I'm so tired.

Ridingthegravytrain · 04/09/2022 18:07

I have the latest Stephen King on pre order coming Tuesday. That's the rest of my week sorted. Can't wait.

Hi Tina coffee shop and take a book or a magazine. Do you are not completely alone. Drink a hot drink in peace and have a pastry or a cake as a treat.

Mummyoflittledragon · 04/09/2022 18:12

Beezknees · 04/09/2022 18:26

My DC goes back tomorrow. They're 14 so I don't see a whole amount of them anyway during the holidays, I'm boring and mates are more interesting!

Start of Year 10 tomorrow, things getting serious now regarding GCSEs.

I work full time so I'll just be going to work as normal tomorrow.

berksandbeyond · 04/09/2022 18:27

My DD starts on Tuesday but.. em I'll be working? No rest, just trying to fit work around the short school hours for the first few days

I work evenings, start at 6 and usually finish around midnight. Term time I can usually grab an hour or two in the day but the holidays have been hard.

Mine starts a new preschool but not till the 19th 🥴 he's had nearly 9 weeks off because of his finish date from his previous nursery, I'll be at home with baby DD and I just can't wait for her to be able to have more than 20 mins of sleep in a quiet house😂 and get back to our baby groups. DS is so excited to start too, I think we are all craving the routine a bit now
