Random question. How tall against a 5 ft 4 person is someone 4 feet 10?

Aaargh! I have booked my child into an activity he is REALLY excited about tomorrow morning and I have only just noticed he needs to be a minimum of 4 feet 10.

I am in a hotel room with no access to a measuring tape and the only thing I can go on is I know I am 5 feet 4 and he reaches my chin.

I know it'd be a rough guess and random, but what do you guys think?

If you have an iPhone you can measure using the measure app.

You would have to know the measurement of your chin to top off your head - that isn't a universal size.

4ft 10 is 6 inches shorter than 5" 4' so the size of the short side of an A5 piece of paper. Could you find something that size to check?

I'm 5'4", my mum was 4'11" and I could rest my chin on her head. Not sure that's any help really.

Can't you ask at reception for a tape measure, or ruler?

Golden Ratio suggests he is not going to be tall enough. Step back a bit and think about the length of your head from skull top down to your chin. It is longer than six inches in an adult.

You are going to have to blag it. It is easier to do so this time of year.

My partner 5ft 4 and I'm 4 ft 11 so I would say I'm too his shoulders he isn't hear for proper measurement lol

I really doubt your partner only measures 5 inches from his shoulder to the top of his head!

Yes. He would have to be a sloping head like a hare and about the same size.

I simply equated OP's measurements to 'hands' on a horse. OP is a 16 hand horse and son is a 14.5 hand horse. No way is a head going to fit in that height differences when you see those horses typically withers to withers.

Honestly, OP don't stress just blag it. Most people do. Just google this evenings news - humans. We blag everything we do.

Stand up against a wall and mark your heights with a pencil dot. Compare the difference using a piece of A4 or A5 paper (or something where you can find out the exact size of the thing, could be a biro or a book for instance). You should be able to get a pretty accurate measurement that way.

Or maybe use the shampoo to give him a mohican look (don't wash it out though)

From the end of my thumb nail to the first joint is one inch
So measuring the side of my phone of that comes out around 5 inches.

Does reception have a sewing kit? They often have a tape measure in them.

A standard pillow case is 20" by 26" - assuming you have pillows in the room, use this to measure your son.

Or according to Google, the Gideon Bible measures 7.8 x 5.2 x 1.3 inches - there should be one somewhere in your room.
