May he rest in peace. Thoughts for his family and friends.

So sad. He seemed like such a lovely man. 66 is no age.

girlmom21 · 01/09/2022 11:27

It's such a shame. He appeared on one of the breakfast shows probably 9 months ago now and definitely looked different but was still in high spirits. He seemed lovely. RIP Bill!

This is very sad news. I always found him a lovely presenter.

This has made me a bit teary, Bill was a lovely presenter and my Mum, who died a few years ago, always had a bit of a thing for him so it’s throwing up weird emotions for me today. She actually appeared on BBC Breakfast as part of a charity choir about 10 years ago and got to meet him and was utterly charmed by him. She hated having her photo taken so the only photo of herself she had up in her house of herself was a framed picture of her & Bill.

So sad. My Dad's in having a biopsy today for prostate cancer - not the best day to hear this! RIP Bill

His book on beekeeping is really funny and interesting. I highly recommend it

He came across as a very decent man. The tribute from Sian Williams was lovely.

Loved your story about your mum icebear. Flowers

It’s sad, my Mum (ok, and me too) had a soft spot for Bill. Bill and his bees.

Ah, he was lovely on the Bake Off, . Best wishes and condolences to his family.

Ohpaella · 01/09/2022 21:02

Very sad. Shitty cancer. Wish there was more awareness for men about prostrate cancer. Men that survive it have soul destroying side effects.

I really liked Bill as a presenter, he came across very lovely and was sad to see this today, all the best to his family and loved ones.

Very sad news.

I was so pleased to hear him on Classic fm the other weekend, it was ‘wow he’s come back, I’m so pleased, he sounds on top form, hopefully this is a positive sign’. How wrong I was. He brought much pleasure to so many. A real gentleman.
