@vinoandbrie there was a lovely 3hr tribute to Bill on Classic FM yesterday. Worth a listen. 🙂

Dh and I are really sad about this. We always used to watch him on breakfast with Sian Williams, they were the perfect team. He was such a gent and very funny too.

My brother is currently having chemo for prostate cancer which has spread. 😔

Always loved the sound of his calming voice on Classic FM, seemed like an all round decent guy. RIP Bill ❤️

please don't use the term 'battle' when referring to cancer or other such illnesses. You have no idea how it sounds and the burden it places upon cancer patients. And what exactly does everyone expect the battle to play out? Its not as if a patient can arm themselves with a sword and sit on a palfrey while dressed in armour...
They feel they have to 'fight' cancer rather than allowing themselves to merely be treated, which is what most people would say for any other illness.
And that phrase 'lost their battle' suggests to others that they didn't fight hard enough.
While state of mind is important in any illness, ultimately the treatment will work or it won't
Speaking from experience here...
