Yesterday psyched me out when the tenth nearest word was only 30-something. And the top ten had some awful words in it!

When the nearest word is only 40 or 50 similarity my heart sinks a bit. I know it'll be something nebulous like "it" or "supernumerary" or "midst" and I'll take hundreds of guesses following high greens to nowhere.

Even got a few rare tepids today and a really fast find.

I have loads of the top ten but just can't get to the target. Can anyone help?

InMySpareTime - incase you haven't got there yet- I would stick with 990/991 and think about several of those. It might happen after 998. (In typical semantle fashion it is only looking really at one use/theme of the word).

Thanks @chocolateavocado I haven't used that word in that context, I'd usually use 901 and a cold word (that I tried 200 guesses earlier and should be hot).
I got a lot of tepids today.

Ohhhhhhh - got it but I entirely agree with your post below about never using it in this context and using 901 and the stupidly cold word instead.

Also the place I WOULD use this word about is freezing cold as well.

it was definitely a frustrating one today - i would say 616 was a direct synonym, whereas 998 etc were just setting context.
