Tepid usually tarts at 20 similarity, which is low greens today.

Like this:

Tepid has now gone - none to be seen for the last couple of days. I don’t know why but it’s really thrown me. Ages to find a green on both days because I’m getting caught in following cold words - note to self to stop this of course!

Loads of tepid on Junior...

If, as mentioned above, tepid starts at a similarity of 20, then on days where the nearest words are low similarity there can be no tepid words.
Today the thousandth nearest word has a similarity of 19.96 so there are no tepid words.

Ah, and yesterday was under 20 too. That's good to know. I hadn't realised there was a firm link to 20 and just assumed it was the closest 'warm' guesses each day. Both days were hideous slogs of the type that make me wonder why on earth I play this game, and DH went over 500 yesterday without getting the word!

Junior yesterday must also have started under 20 as no tepids there, and a stupid number of guesses with awful greens. Today I got it in 6 so no tepids to be seen either!

I hate it more when the thousandth word is actually high thirties so there's loads of tepid nothing to do with the word!
