Can any of you clever people work this out? I'm perplexed.

Evening all!

I was just browsing property websites and this listing has stumped me: www.onthemarket.com/details/11871574/

Why would it be sold? Who would buy it? What could you do with it? 🤔

So confused but I imagine that there must be a very obvious answer that i'm missing. DH is also scratching his head.

Whatdya think? 🤔

How bizarre.
Will the new owner be responsible for road repairs? Can they charge a toll? so many questions.

jewishmum · 27/08/2022 19:24

Roadside dogging area.

TaureanGemini · 27/08/2022 19:24

How bizarre! I think you should email the estate agent and ask for a viewing 🤣
Maybe someone will buy it and put a toll booth on it 💰

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 27/08/2022 19:25

Knock a tree down and build a shite roadside cafe Confused

YourVagesty · 27/08/2022 19:25

£10 as well. Bargain 😂

We could all chip in 50p or something.

I think the triangle is bit too far over. I suspect it is actually the wooded area only. Someone could buy it for a forest school /dog walking area /land banking /tax write off / ransom strip.

Relocatiorelocation · 27/08/2022 19:26

I'm baffled, surely the red triangle is in the wrong place anyway, it's covering the road.

Pinkywoo · 27/08/2022 19:50

Is to do with that little track coming off the main road I wonder, maybe that's access for something hidden by the trees?

nottodaytomorrow · 27/08/2022 20:59

They are now technically land owners and can be titled " lord" or "lady" Wink

I don't think so, if you look at photo 2, it's clearly the road they're selling.

@YourVagesty you need to book a viewing!!

AssignedSlytherinAtBirth · 27/08/2022 21:12

Looks as if it's for sale by the Royal Estates! But the pin thing on the map is below the road. I reckon the red triangle is in the wrong place. It doesn't make sense.

BertieBotts · 27/08/2022 21:13

Perhaps it's just an area where three boundaries meet and they want the three owners to battle it out over who gets the extra corner 😂

BlankTimes · 27/08/2022 21:15

I think both th photo and the map have the red triangle in the wrong place and it's the amall access strip with a little bit of woodland that's for sale.

May be an intersting buy to use as a ransom strip for future development.

SilverGlassHare · 27/08/2022 21:16

It’s definitely a piece of the road - look at the description.

SilverGlassHare · 27/08/2022 21:17

Though actually maybe I’m reading ‘on a residential road’ too literally.

ivykaty44 · 27/08/2022 21:20

its the freehold - so is it land already built upon ?

MissKittyCat · 27/08/2022 21:21

It looks like before the roundabout was built, that the road went straight across and the triangle was to the south of the old road. Presumably the owner of the land gave permission for new road to be built on it.

Alphabet1spaghetti2 · 27/08/2022 21:22

@TooMuchToDoTooLittleInclination its a main highway road in wales - I cannot believe that would be for sale. ?????
A plot of land further along the valley. was for sale as residential development in November 2020.

Squiblet · 27/08/2022 21:22

That looks to me like a test fake listing created to help train new employees, which was posted publicly by mistake.

Ransom strip was my guess, someone will make a fortune on that one day.

I took it to mean it is sited on a residential road as in “ the primary school is situated on a residential road” type context iyswim??

Alphabet1spaghetti2 · 27/08/2022 21:25

@Squiblet now that would make a lot of sense!! Like the subtitles faux pas!!

Dutch1e · 27/08/2022 21:28

It's only 100-ish square metres so I wonder if it's just supposed to be this little patch?

If you look at the map with the pin on it, Beechwood Drive is south of the A road. It appears to be in a housing development.
