SHEIN Autumn/Winter Wardrobe

YellowTreeHouse · 25/08/2022 14:28

Trying to get prepared for autumn/winter!

What are everyone’s favourite autumn/winter finds from SHEIN?

For context I’m a petite size 6.

Thanks 😊

There is nothing that going to keep you warm in the winter from Shein.

rocksonrocks · 25/08/2022 14:56

Oh gosh please don't! No need to buy into fast fashion but the aside the quality is utterly utterly shit!

Spend your money elsewhere, Depop/Vinted/eBay are goldmines

Incorrect. Got a couple of lovely warm pieces last year.

What is shein? Is it like primark?

I love fast fashion and I’ve not had an issue with the quality.

I would never buy second hand.

I’m not interested in anyone’s opinions on fast fashion. If you don’t want to use it, don’t. It won’t stop the rest of us.

Great question 😅 I say “sheen” but I think it might be “she-in”…

She-in is what I thought looking at it. Cool primark is affordable for me for the children so I'll have a look

It's worse than Primark. At least they attempt to be sustainable. I've seen Shein items in charity shops and all the ones I've seen are static-y like the old nighties your gran would wear. They'd cause sparks in the dark.

It's she-in because it used to be called she-insider I believe

Yeah I’ve bought a few bits from it and really liked everything I’ve got.

Have you heard of PatPat? They’re fab for children’s clothes! Got a lot off her and love them.

Shein is awful. Even lower than Primark.

I thought primark had cleaned up their act a bit. Maybe I need to rethink and stick to ebay.

GingerAndLemonn · 25/08/2022 15:13

I find it helpful to use the filter on SHEIN and only search for cotton, linen etc. helps avoid the cheap crappy material and also if you want warmer jumpers.

That link is about Shein, not Primark.

You think Santa Claus is common but you think Shein clothes are ok?

ThatGirlInACountrySong · 05/11/2022 22:54

Shein clothes are fine op... ignore the snobby attitudes!

The amount of postage and vans running here there and everywhere involved with one top off Vinted is just as bad!

GoodVibesHere · 06/11/2022 08:15

Shein seem to specialise in flimsy static atrocities. I guess it's fine for something you plan to wear just once? Nothing survives an actual wash.

My 16yr old daughter has bought from Shein, and they have been the worst quality 'clothes' I've ever come across.

I will, don’t worry! It really doesn’t bother me whether other people like it or not, I was just curious if anyone had any recs.

Sounds like your 16 year old daughter needs to be better at the items she’s picking. Either that or you/she need to know how to wash them.

I have pieces from last year that I still wear this year. I’ve worn them all more than once and washed them multiple times. No issues and the quality is just fine.

The issue isn't 'vans and postage', it's the environmental (and human) costs of throwaway fast fashion. The resources used and pollution caused making these items, and then again when they are rapidly discarded.

Ivyonafence · 06/11/2022 09:21

If the clothes are such good quality why can't you wear your autumn/winter wardrobe from last year?
