Is it exciting going to the hospital and knowing that it's go-time?!

My waters broke around 1pm and contractions started about half an hour later. DS was born at 1:11am.

It was exciting until I got to the hospital and they sent me away without checking anything because my contractions were too far apart (5 minutes). I live nearly an hour from the hospital. Wound up turning around on the road to be readmitted at 2:45pm, 6cm dilated.

It hurt like Hell (I found early labour with DC1 at home the hardest part)

Delivery / baby crowning was very primal and very liberating - for all 3.
I had good deliveries though and am very grateful for that.

Waters broke at midnight. Contractions started shortly after. DS born 1pm next day.

Dc1 , woke about 6am on a Saturday just feeling it was happening. I was 4 days overdue. Very mild feeling contractions but just like Braxton Hicks I'd had on and off for weeks. Had a bath and woke dp who was sleeping in as it was Saturday , at about 8. Rang hospital, went in about 11am eventually to be looked at and baby arrived 230pm. All very undramatic and civilised!

7am on a Thursday (born thurs 4.20pm) 11pm on a Friday (born sat 4am), 7am on a Friday (born fri 1.39pm)

With my first I went to hospital as my waters broke but got sent home. It wasn't exciting as by the time I got back at 1ish I was in full blown labour and the car journey was not fun!! They say me in the waiting room and I was screaming in pain scaring all the other mums in early labour. I basically went from 0-100 in an hour. Got back to hospital at 1ish and had her at 4.20.

I opted for home births for the others as I never wanted to sit in a car with a seat belt on whilst contracting again!

(Also our family sized car broke down so we drove to the hospital in a classic mini...very bumpy!)

Had a sweep at 3pm on the Sunday. Had mild cramps on Monday morning but nothing awful. Rung the hospital at 3pm Monday as I felt I was having stronger cramps but nothing awful, they told me to come in. Due to roadworks it took 50 mins to go 4 miles where I was told on walking in that "I can tell you now you're not in labour because you're walking and talking but we'll look anyway." I was 1 cm dilated and told to go home as it would be days yet. Spent 45 mins driving home. Got home and 5 mins later my parents (mum had spent the drive home telling me i should be at the birth centre - dad had arrived at mums house as we got back as he lives 250 miles away) took me straight back to hospital which only took 15 mins (luckily!) . They very crossly told me again that it would be days yet but that a midnwife would have another look... as she did my waters went and my daughter arrived 20 mins later.

I got an apology the next day and a strong warning that if I ever have another child to tell whoever is looking after me that I labour very quickly!

Bizarrely the midwife who had looked after me for my entire pregnancy started an overtime shift at the birth centre whilst I was travelling back there and ended up looking after me while I gave birth!

DC1, woke up around 7am with contractions. They went on all day but never got close together. Saw midwife around 11pm, then went to hospital at 3am. Wasn't excited as felt exhausted by then. DC was born around 11am.

With DC2 I felt really uncomfortable all day but started having proper signs around 8pm. Went to hospital around midnight and defiantly felt more excited than first time. He was born just before dawn.
