Just that really. I can hear the world and their wife playing in their gardens but I've literally stayed in bed all day so far.

Nope. I've got covid and today has been the first time I've felt up to going outside and loving it. Done 3 washes and its all dried in minutes.

MummyInTheNecropolis · 13/08/2022 16:32

Yes but I prefer it, I don’t like being out in the heat. My DD has gone to the coast for the day today so I have the house to myself, I’ve done a big clean and sorted out some cupboards now I’m sitting in front of a fan with a cold drink, browsing MN, will read some of my book in a bit. I don’t have a garden, otherwise I might just find a shady spot to read in if it wasn’t too uncomfortably hot.

Mums1234 · 13/08/2022 16:33

I am alone and indoors too. I like my own company but right now I'm lonely. I'm seeing it as chance to recharge which helps

stressybessie33 · 13/08/2022 16:34

Yep I'm bored but fuck going out there with a baby. I did consider a walk but it's too hot and I'd be worried about keeping her out of the sun. Been sat with the windows open and a nice breeze circulating.

lollipoprainbow · 13/08/2022 16:36

Yes! I always feel I should be out but I don't want to, my dd is happy staying home, the blinds are down the fan on and I'm just about to crack open a cocktail and have some nibbles.

Ddmcm · 13/08/2022 16:39

Yes! It's far too hot for me and the dog outside, and my son is away on holiday. I've spent too much time on Mumsnet and watching Netflix
I could clean the house or do some cooking but can't be bothered at all

Porridgeislife · 13/08/2022 16:42

Not quite alone as I’ve got a 5 week old baby, but I’ve been sitting in a dark (but cool) bedroom for 4 days now and throughly sick of it. She’s cute, but her chat is terrible.

halfsiesonapotnoodle · 13/08/2022 16:43

Yes, I just go to work, come home and don't see anyone or do anything else. I'm in with my fan, relaxing and sleeping and it's heaven. Everyone else is welcome to it out there.

thesunwillout · 13/08/2022 16:48

Yes me. Daughter at uni town.
I've been a bit lonely to be honest but like a pp I'm just trying to recharge as I've got some long term health issues and they make the heat harder to do things with.

I am pretty bored tho! Banging headache so can't even read or watch rubbish.

I am looking forward to lower temperatures then I can do more that needs sorting around the house.

Bliss for holiday makers tho, I live in Devon and they must be having the best time being able to go to the beach😃

bogoblin · 13/08/2022 16:50

Yes but I wish my toddler would leave me alone. He insists on sitting clamped to my side like a limpet with my arm around him to read and I'm also 8 months pregnant!

LT2 · 13/08/2022 16:52

Not completely alone but I am with my 7 month old. DH at work this weekend. Too hot for baby and too hot do anything more than short walk to get him to nap!

longtompot · 13/08/2022 16:55

I am sat in my living room with the fan on, alone apart from the dog flopping all over the place and the occasional food seeking cat. The rest of the family are doing their own thing in their own rooms, though dh is sat in his garden office baking with a fan that just pushes hot air around. I have been out to hang out washing and then half an hour again to bring it back in.

Batwomanandrobin · 13/08/2022 17:08

Moved in to a small village on my own just over a week ago, didn't want to moulder away in the house so I took myself for a walk, the heat was so unbearable I came back after 20 minutes as it was making me feel sick.

Wishihadanalgorithm · 13/08/2022 17:14

We are all home but all in separate rooms. I’m watching Virgin River on the TV. Can’t hear anything other than the TV and the fan. No one is walking past our house and children aren’t out in their gardens playing.

Fluffyboo · 13/08/2022 17:21

Not alone as DH is here, but I am very much staying indoors today semi naked in front of the fan. It is warm in our living room but much much cooler than the hellscape that is outside!!

saraclara · 13/08/2022 17:24

I've not moved from the sofa with the fan running, apart from to make drinks. I'm really not coping with the heat at all. I think this actually feels worse than the hottest day last time. I feel pretty miserable

maddiemookins16mum · 13/08/2022 17:24

Not alone but indoors, I’ve just had a Nana nap for an hour and about to do WARNING MN ALERT - a picky tea. We are going out later though, just discovered a new Mini golf in Walmer/Deal (short drive from us) and they’re open until 9pm. So we’ll have a game and a drink after. Can’t wait.

PrancerandDancer · 13/08/2022 17:33

I really don't like this heat. I walked the dog at 5am then had a film morning with my 5 year old. My In laws (the angels) have taken her to theirs for a few hours so I've done an assignment in front of the fan!

Booked the cheap kids cinema showing tomorrow morning just to use and abuse their air con!

Alphabet1spaghetti2 · 13/08/2022 17:39

Yep. Have stayed in alone and done things like diy, paperwork and the laundry.
might watch tv or read later.
productive but not sweatily so.

Cas112 · 13/08/2022 17:44

Yes but I'm heavily pregnant and not alone, thankfully my partner is keeping me company

NannyOggsWhiskyStash · 13/08/2022 17:49

Been in my bedroom faffing about online, with a fan directed at me until an hour ago. It's been delightful

Adversity · 13/08/2022 17:51

Had breakfast in the garden by myself. Then I I went out at 7.30 for a 1.5 hour walk, first hour was fine but last 30 mins it was getting hot. DH went off for a 5k run just as I got back.

warofthemonstertrucks · 13/08/2022 17:52

I wish I could be. I'm about to have to go to work to cover as we have no bloody staff as usual (social care mental health services). I am not happy.

I feel absolutely envious of your position. I really do. I wish I could be left in peace and quiet in bed. A darkened room is what I need as my DC are driving me absolutely demented 🤪

LaurieFairyCake · 13/08/2022 18:00

I have been cleaning the house since 6am

It's 37 degrees in here

I may die
