Anyone else spending the heatwave indoors and alone?

Just that really. I can hear the world and their wife playing in their gardens but I've literally stayed in bed all day so far.

Yes I'm lying in bed with the curtains closed MNing.

I live alone and spend most weekends on my own (no partner, no family).

I should be doing something productive, but I can't be bothered - I've already got the shitty end of the stick! Summertime always makes me feel lonely, at least in winter you can be cosy, snuggled in front of a fire even if you are still alone. I would happily fast-forward through hot days like this, they bring me no pleasure and just zap my energy.

Not much going on outside either, neighbours are very quite, I think most people have gone off for the day.

My dog wants to go for a walk, but I don't think it will be cool enough for a while.

12 hours cleaning 😮 How have you not melted yet?

Been at home last few days staying cool far far too hot for me looking forward to the predicted thunderstorms and a return to cooler weather.

LaurieFairyCake, step away from the duster. Put that mop down at once. Come out with your hands up and fix yourself an iced drink in the garden, before you melt!

We have visitors coming this week and we've been too busy to clean for literally a year

Hardly been out the house in the last few days. Sat in lounge with air-con on.

I'm kind of alone. DP is in the spare room gaming, I'm in the lounge currently being pestered by FiL's dog that we are looking after for the weekend. The dog wants to go out for a walk and won't accept that it's still too hot. Dog is also claiming the fan as his own.

Yes. DH and teens away and I got the paddling pool out for myself in the garden.
I'm so much more comfortable after a dip in it.

It's making me feel ill and the multiple fans aren't touching it, I can't stop my face sweating (sorry) I've never liked heat but menopause seemed to do for my internal thermostat completely.

I'm mainly concerned about CEV unwell DH who is more wobbly today and I suspect may be brewing another UTI, despite me pouring liquids in. He informs me that because he spent his childhood in hot countries, he feels fine. He doesn't look like a soggy overcooked prawn so he's probably right.

Apologies for whinge and sympathies with all others erm...not enjoying this! Roll on Autumn.

I ventured out this afternoon for about an hour, sat under a tree with an ice cream and then came back in (100 times sweatier). There are people in bikinis basking in full sun - I think I'd last about 5 seconds. What's their secret??

I'm hiding in the bedroom. Curtains and windows closed and two fans going on full. Still boiling but coolest room in the house.

Got to venture out in a few mins and sweating at the thought!

Home alone and loving it

No but I wish I was.

I'm 35 weeks pregnant with recurrent migraine and was dealing with it alone all week. Parents have realised how bad it is and have packed me up to come and stay with them. I feel (and look) horrendous and I can't wait for the heat to break 😭

Yep home alone with my 5 month old as my partner had officially left me as of yesterday. Feeling VERY lonely and depressed.

I've been alone and indoors. I love the heat but dc are at their dads and I have a little dog. I'd get her looked after if it was to take the dc somewhere as obviously too hot to take her most places but wouldn't go to the effort to do that to go and do something alone.

The rest of the rooms is hoovered beautifully by them - it's just when you move the couch

Yep, perfectly happily pottering about in my home, curtains drawn and air conditioning on, has kept it to a nice cool 19/20 degrees. Very happy with myself, reading, writing, eating ice cream and have the TV on in the background. Looking forward to the promised thunderstorms on Monday!

I'm alone, black out curtains closed all day, fan barely cooling me. Housework and regular showers and thank God for internet. On the plus I'm eating very little so stomach feeling flat. I hate summer so much.
