Sick to death of salad in all its permutations. Tonight’s was a green salad with peaches, mozzarella, pomegranate and balsamic dressing. Prawns. Potato salad, last nights was a Mexican style one based around nachos.
ive done old fashioned plated up salads. Moroccan style thingys, Asian spicy noodles ones,I am so bloody bored with them (I don’t particularly like them anyway) please send me your inspiration for something nice to eat in the heat that doesn’t involve too much green shite.

Having lots of pre cooked foods here like sausage rolls, chicken etc
Bruschetta for dinner with a caesar salad because I fancied it

Homemade burgers - lump of mince, divide into 4, add salt and pepper, squish in circles, fry. Serve with buns, salad (sorrry), coleslaw, and sweet potato fries (if required).

BobbinThreadbare123 · 11/08/2022 19:56

I've just made a lovely warming soup 😂
Burgers is a good suggestion; I do mine in the oven so I don't have to stand near the cooker!

RaininSummer · 11/08/2022 20:31

It's not compulsory to eat salad just because it's hot. I made a curry. Seems to go down well enough in hot countries.

hugoagogo · 11/08/2022 20:34

Pasties?

Allmarbleslost · 11/08/2022 20:56

Today we've had burgers and salad

dementedma · 11/08/2022 21:01

We had ....salad. With French bread.

AlisonDonut · 11/08/2022 21:05

I'm picking so many tomatoes that everything has tomatoes in it at the moment. My new favourite tomato do sh is cucumbers, onions and tomatoes all chopped up, with just salt and lime juice. Serve with anything that you'd normally eat with a salad. It went down well with cheesy chips earlier this week.

oswego · 11/08/2022 21:06

Been at least 35C where we are daily since May, we do a lot of picnic style dinners

Melon, prosciutto, burrata, crusty bread and pesto is one favourite

Sandwiches of any kind

Watermelon, feta, mint salad

Lettuce wraps with whatever quickly sautéed meat you like and crunchy veg on top, can go Asian or Mexican

AtleastitsnotMonday · 11/08/2022 22:10

How about a ploughman's? Cold but not leafy!

BarrelOfOtters2 · 11/08/2022 22:13

We had omelette, it was quick and cheesy.

BronzeSage · 11/08/2022 22:30

Salad of broad beans , green beans, olive oil and garlic. Not very salad like, and could be warm too.

FreezerOrgReq · 11/08/2022 22:32

I was tempted to have butternut and chilli soup in a mug with a toasted cheese sandwich, we had salad but I’m still thinking I’d have preferred it.

autumnboys · 11/08/2022 22:35

I am obsessed with Claire Thomson’s account on Insta - it’s called 5 o’clock apron. Her summer recipes are great. I could eat the rice wraps with peach, avocado and feta for breakfast lunch and dinner. Sadly the rest of the household seem to require a bit more variety.

bilbodog · 11/08/2022 22:46

I was sick of salad today so we had fish and chips…….

Oblomov22 · 11/08/2022 23:19

God. Most of above sound Devine.

MarmiteCoriander · 11/08/2022 23:30

For the past month, DH or myself have cooked nearly every evening meal on the gas BBQ! We are renovating, so living in a static van in the garden and its FAR too hot too cook in the van. We arent just living on salads though. If you have a BBQ with a hood- its the same as cooking in an oven, so you can cook almost anything.

TooBigForMyBoots · 11/08/2022 23:44

Add chicken wings and chips. They liven up a salad.Grin

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 12/08/2022 04:39

Just eat whatever you want. Why are you eating salad if you're bored of it?
