Can’t find a drink to quench my thirst

What are you drinking in this weather?

I’ve had two cups of tea, lots of water and an ice lolly. I don’t like anything fizzy and I’m not keen on squash. What do you find is the best drink to quench your thirst on days like this?

Water, freshly squeezed lime juice, tiny bit of salt.

MakeadealwithGod · 10/08/2022 21:44

I just made weak squash with crushed ice and it’s doing the job.

Roses Lime juice cordial. Iced and not too strong. Perfect.

Especially with soda and ice cubes. Ginger beer and lime is lovely too

Lipton's (black not green) tea with lemon - annoyingly not easy to get hold of in the uk, so have to resort to Amazon. Just a teaspoon of sugar per teapot. Hot, warm or cold

I'm normally a water only person but if it gets too hot, I can't drink water at all (great chances of survival....), I stock up on tonic or grapefruit juice before a heatwave.

Water with cucumber slices

Rocks organic orange squash with ice and cold water. Delicious. Almost like Orangina used to taste 40 years ago.

Fizzy water with ice and a dash of lime /lemon squash.

Or lemonade, orange juice with ice.

TheChosenTwo · 10/08/2022 23:14

I’m very boring but I only ever drink water (or alcohol!). I don’t like juices or squash, cordials, fizzy pop or anything like that, I don’t find them refreshing or thirst quenching, quite the opposite.
Although it sounds like I’m maybe being pious, I’m definitely not in any way, I still eat more than my fair share of crisps and chocolate etc 😂

Orange or pineapple juice with cheapo lemonade and, more recently, I've developed a taste for bubble tea

caringcarer · 10/08/2022 23:24

Iced water with a slice of lemon.

Isn't milk supposed to be best for rehydration?

HelloBunny · 10/08/2022 23:53

Coconut Water

Dartmoorcheffy · 10/08/2022 23:54

Waitrose grapefruit squash . Not too sweet and no artificial sweeteners.

MidnightMeltdown · 10/08/2022 23:55

Nothing quenches thirst like cold apple juice imo

Thursa · 11/08/2022 01:08

I used to love those Tesco brand fizzy flavored waters. Now that I can’t get them I drink the flavored San Pellegrino water/fizzy drink.

Nowyouseemenowy0udont · 11/08/2022 01:14

I like to squeeze half a lemon, add a teaspoon of caster sugar and cold water, add more sugar if required. Very refreshing.

Evivie · 11/08/2022 05:39

I live in a hot country and I feel like this sometimes when water doesn't 'cut it'. I find that coconut water helps enormously as do slices of watermelon.

Milk. Especially glugged straight from the jug while standing in the cool of the open fridge door.

Bottle Green Elderflower Cordial is the best drink ever.

I agree. I have it with fizzy water and lots of ice. Other than that I drink plain water, with ice and lemon. Or tea, but rarely during the day when it's hot, just first thing in the morning.
