Can’t find a drink to quench my thirst

What are you drinking in this weather?

I’ve had two cups of tea, lots of water and an ice lolly. I don’t like anything fizzy and I’m not keen on squash. What do you find is the best drink to quench your thirst on days like this?

Lipton Iced tea with ice and lemon

Skimmed milk

Pure fruit juice and mix them up for a change.

I find fruit is as quenching as liquid - berries, grapes, melons, pineapple and satsumas especially.

Love peach iced tea and adore a lime cordial and soda. Not too sweet.

Llamasally · 10/08/2022 20:34

Lemon iced tea

Caramelsmadfuzzytail · 10/08/2022 20:37

Lady grey tea with orange blossom. I find that it refreshes me more than anything else when it's really hot.

PeloAddict · 10/08/2022 20:41

I dilute orange juice with really cold water and loads of ice

perenniallymessy · 10/08/2022 20:42

50:50 cheap apple juice and water is what we had when we were travelling in outback Australia and that was so refreshing.

WorriedMillie · 10/08/2022 20:43

Aldi do a lovely still lemonade which is very refreshing
Also echo the suggestion of lime cordial and still/sparkling water

Nat6999 · 10/08/2022 20:44

You need a tiny bit of sugar to absorb the water. Weak squash is best.

Vimto! Lots of ice and cold water and a dash of Vimto

uncomfortablydumb53 · 10/08/2022 20:44

Vimto

Lassi, Ayran and similar yoghurt-based drinks. I think salted lassi when it’s hot does the trick.

I randomly went to McDonald's and tried their Spanish fruit punch with crushed ice. It is amazing.

If I can't quench my thirst after drinking water and fruit juice etc I have something like a Dioralyte which put back the salt and and electrolytes that you need it seems to quite my thirst better as well as been good for you in small doses

ValerieDoonican · 10/08/2022 20:58

Caffeine free sports electrolyte drink. Either lucozade sport but diluted, or you can get dissolvable tablets the come in a tube (a bit like steradent 😄). Only thing that gets rid of my heat headache

PlantChef · 10/08/2022 21:01

Water.

RoseMartha · 10/08/2022 21:01

Elderflower cordial

Alwaysconfuddled · 10/08/2022 21:02

Watermelon or pineapple. The medication I am on means I always feel thirsty, even more so in this weather. I don’t find that drinks help but eating fruit does.

MrsSkylerWhite · 10/08/2022 21:02

green tea, cloudy lemonade or plain water with lots of ice

wheresmymojo · 10/08/2022 21:05

I find having a nice big bowl of watermelon as good as any drink

Maerchentante · 10/08/2022 21:19

Sparkling water
2/3 sparkling water, 1/3 clear apple juice - works just a well with cloudy, just personal preference
Peppermint tea - make the tea in the morning, leave bag in, drink when cold

I'm normally a ribena or tea girl every time but on days like this the only thing I enjoy and that hydrates me is chilled bottled water. Can't stand the stuff normally but find it really refreshing on hot stuffy days
