What’s Your Favourite Takeaway?

Mine would have to be an Indian. I like Chinese but DH finds it quite boring so we only have it occasionally. I would love it if there was more choice locally eg Greek, Lebanese, Vietnamese, Thai. There’s a chippy on my parents’ village that also does Thai but when we had it a few years ago it was pretty dire! I love pizza but Domino's is our only option & it’s so expensive.

Boring but Chinese every time

we live by the sea so proper fish and chips is a close 2nd and then 3rd is Indian

I also love Thai and Japanese food but our town doenst have a very good selection of those

i used to like takeaway pizza but it’s so expensive for what it is o find making my own (easy 10 min dough recipe from sainburys) is tastier and cheaper!

Chinese

undecided112 · 07/08/2022 13:15

Indian 😍

user1497787065 · 07/08/2022 13:16

Fish and chips and usually half the price of Chinese or Indian where we are.

TreacsPotNoodle · 07/08/2022 13:20

Thai or Chinese!

We also have a local "grill" takeaway near us and they do the best lemon and herb halloumi pittas with peri fries 🐷

And now im off to persuade dp to order a takeaway tonight...

SunshineLollipopsAndRainbows · 07/08/2022 13:21

Fish & chips out of paper, eaten overlooking the sea

Indian every time.

Bugbeau · 07/08/2022 13:23

Definitely Indian!

familyissues12345 · 07/08/2022 13:25

Indian, just love an Indian!

We're quite lucky in our area, lots of nice restaurants/take aways. We have a one off take away, they do burgers which my children love, and the most amazing Halloumi and Falafal flatbreads with salad, this gorgeous creamy sauce and a drizzle of homemade hot sauce.

Hungry now... Grin

We’ve just moved from a big city where I loved South Indian, Turkish, various fried chicken, occasional Thai but too pricy. Papa johns was a regular. And of course Chinese.

moved to a small town, and the local Chinese does little noodle boxes. Choose your noodle, add extras and a sauce. So good and not a huge greasy portion that I feel compelled to eat. I even saved a bit for breakfast. So happy to find that little gem.

HelenHywater · 07/08/2022 13:26

Turkish I think. Or Korean.

Onesmallstepforaman · 07/08/2022 13:38

Indian for me, followed by a haggis supper when I'm in Scotland

OnTheRunWithMannyMontana · 07/08/2022 13:38

Love an Indian but really trying to cut down on takeaways.

I would love some more interesting options nearby though. There's a German Doner Kebab that's just opened that we tried and that was lovely and we have a Jamaican place opening next month that I'm looking forward to trying.

Hintofreality · 07/08/2022 13:39

Good quality, proper old style fish and chips. You can’t beat it.

mamaduckbone · 07/08/2022 18:47

Proper fish and chips, ideally at the seaside.

We also have an amazing Turkish takeaway near us that does fantastic kebabs on a proper charcoal grill and delicious maze - that's a close second.

I'm always disappointed by Chinese and Indian takeaway. So expensive and leaves me feeling greasy and bloated.

dontgobaconmyheart · 07/08/2022 18:58

When I lived in London a few years ago definitely the local Lebanese. Around here my favourite is Indian.

No such excitements having since left London and the Indian takeaways we've tried locally aren't as good as they were there either. I actually didn't particularly enjoy living in London but the takeaways round us there were top notch.

Sartre · 07/08/2022 20:16

Curry but DC don’t like it so we don’t have it as often as I’d like and usually have pizza or sushi.

Isseywith3witchycats · 07/08/2022 20:22

definitely Indian i can have my dansak chicken with rice and OH has chicken tikka with chips

TeddyTed · 07/08/2022 20:25

Always Chinese for me. We have a great local takeaway, sadly it doesn’t deliver though ☹️

cookiecreammmpie · 07/08/2022 20:30

Donner kebab.

gogohmm · 07/08/2022 20:37

Not much choice here so it's usually Chinese or pizza. When I lived elsewhere my favourite was an Afghan restaurant

Ringmaster27 · 07/08/2022 20:39

I’d choose Chinese everytime - so much choice!! But the one in my little rural village is crap, and none from town deliver here 😭
Close second is the one pizza/kebab place that does deliver to me, and their burgers are amazing. The size of my head, dripping in burger sauce. Lovely 🤩

LadyOfTheCanyon · 07/08/2022 20:39

Veggie Halloumi kebab and chips
A close second is the vegan Massaman curry from a place in Crystal Palace.
Curries are best had in-store, as it were. We've got loads near us in Tooting and takeaway never seems as good.

QuizzlyBears · 07/08/2022 20:43

I like Chinese. Peanut chicken and mushroom chow mein! Or fish and chips by the seaside.
