I'm just finishing my first cup of tea of the day, I've been watching the wood pigeons flit about the back garden for the last half hour or so while I've been drinking it.

The washer's done one load, and a second's in. I need to wash up too but that can wait.

I'm off to get the girls up when I've finished my drink. We're off to our local Pride festival for a while, possibly meeting a friend there.

We'll need to walk back into town at some point this afternoon - I need a birthday card for my Dad and want to start uniform shopping <joy!>. They don't need much, I just want to spread out the cost.

I haven't thought about tea yet 🤷‍♀️

Later on, I want to fill in a form to make some changes to the Rainbow and Guide accounts for my units and pick up one of my crochet projects. Dd2 has plans to Minecraft with her friend, and dd1 has been bingeing Gilmore Girls so will probably carry on with that.

What about all of you? 🙂

DS2 is poorly so having to stay in for the week so no fun plans for us. My DM is here till Monday so I imagine just relaxing with her keeping DC busy.
Need to pop out and do a food shop and continue my search online for my new car which is quite exciting so far I've fallen in love with the new corsa hatchbacks. 🥰

AiryFairy1 · 06/08/2022 09:47

Enjoying a “proper coffee” while stroking our beautiful cat.
Going to put done washing on and do some work on my appraisal for work as I was meant to do it last weekend, but had Covid.
The kids have their noses in books - I’ve barely had a word out them all morning! They’ll probably want to do Minecraft next.
We’ll watch some more of the Commonwealth Games - we’ve really enjoyed them (and the Lionesses’ win last week was a delightful bonus!)
Pretty relaxed, really 😊

DS chilled in bed with his iPad til 9am, so we've not long got up. Just taking him to the park for a few hours so DH can chill after looking after him for two days! Then it's a nice woodland walk this afternoon and pizza for tea.

I've got a really quiet day which i desperately need. I've had one coffee and have watered the pots. Contemplating making a thread listing everything I have in the cupboards and asking for recipe ideas as I have no clue what food to make today.

YorkieTheRabbit · 06/08/2022 09:55

So far I’ve taken the dogs out and had two cups of coffee.
made bread yesterday so having some for breakfast with butter and raspberry jam 😊
making a curry for tonight but haven’t decided what yet.
planting up a new pot in the garden
watering and tidy up in the greenhouse
genral pottering in the garden 🪴

Exciting day today!
Got a family lunch to go to with promise of lovely cake then we are going on our holiday for a week!
My first annual leave since January!
Really looking forward to it.

MotherofPearl · 06/08/2022 10:02

I'm on a family holiday in the Alps. I foolishly agreed to go up the Mont Blanc cable car with my family, though I suffer from awful vertigo. I got out at the halfway point and am having a coffee in the cafe, trying to block out the view and pretend I'm not halfway up a mountain. Blush

Breathmiller · 06/08/2022 10:02

We're having a very slow start to the morning after our first week back to work. I feel asleep on the sofa last night whici never do and then was awake when I came to bed.

Coffe and toast in bed then up to do some yoga and meditation.

I'm away to a slightly further away town today to pick up the most delicious cakes from a chololatier for my adult daughter's birthday celebration tomorrow. Her birthday is today but she's got other plans so we are having lunch tomorrow.

Then my friend is popping over this afternoon with her son. She has a great eye for home design so I am looking forward to talking about our current renovations and get her opinion. Her son and mine don't see each other so often now they are at different schools but they have always remained great friends and pick up where they left off. They will go to high school together in a year's time and it's lovely that they can still do that.

Not decided what to do for dinner yet. We are mid kitchen renovations and getting fed up cooking with a camping stove and a microwave. Any suggestions welcome.

Have a good Saturday all.

Cuddliesrule · 06/08/2022 10:03

Oh God. I'm hanging out of my arse 😂. Had a friend over for wine and takeaway last night and it got very boozy. I ended up snogging my lodger 😳

Berlinlover · 06/08/2022 10:04

Working from 11am to 9pm 😭

CourtneeLuv · 06/08/2022 10:05

I've done my housework. I need to get dressed to go to the cashpoint, and then I'm out at a hen do tonight 🎊🥂 but I'm not drinking at thr moment 🙃 🙄

Bugbeau · 06/08/2022 10:08

Got up with the kids and they watched TV/went on the iPad for a bit. Now they are playing Lego. Not got any major plans today. Considering popping to the shops and/or library and will probably take them swimming this afternoon.

veiledsentiments · 06/08/2022 10:10

Have just hoovered. Need to get a wash on. Meeting a friend in the gin bar at 3. Which would be good, but we were there last night.

vodkaredbullgirl · 06/08/2022 10:11

Been a busy week, visiting places and loads of walking, before my dd goes back to work Monday. Might have a lazy day, although there is loads I could do around the home.

Simonjt · 06/08/2022 10:12

Morning everyone.

We now have a crawler in the house so we spent the morning sorting the flat out to make it more toddler proof. Gone are the days of being able to leave things on the floor.

Husband is at baby sensory at the moment, hes going to meet some friends after and go out for lunch.

I’ve got rugby training in a bit, our kit for the Bingham cup has arrived so I’m quite excited about trying that on.

My son has a friend coming over for a playdate later, so after rugby we’re going to the shop so he can choose some snacks for them and pizza toppings.

BitOutOfPractice · 06/08/2022 10:14

I’m just having a coffee in the sunshine watching all the activity in the park. There’s a festival on this weekend so there’s lots of activities.

I need to go out for a run today. And do a bit of housework and work work later. Might ask DP if he wants to go for a bike ride with a pub at the end later

MotherofPearl · 06/08/2022 10:15

These lovely domestic posts are making me feel better and are a good distraction.

GrouchyKiwi · 06/08/2022 10:15

I'm watching the netball, which is difficult as a New Zealander, but it's amazing watching Jamaica, they're incredible today. I really want them to win Gold tomorrow.

longtompot · 06/08/2022 10:17

After being kept awake all night by the dog scratching her ear and shaking her head we will be spending the day at the vets to see if it's a seed in her ear. Poor thing thinks we have forgotten her breakfast, but she will probably need to be sedated for them to even be able to look at it

Chelsea26 · 06/08/2022 10:17

Got up early with DS1 and took the dog for a walk round to my mum and dads as he left his phone there when we popped in yesterday evening. He’s now gone to the Liverpool game.

DS2 and SDS are playing on the play station in the snug and will happily stay there all day if we let them but when DP gets up he’s taking them to the park for cricket practise.

DSD and I are going to go into town for a few bits while they’re doing that and we’ll get some stuff I need to make two big salads for a huge family party tomorrow (our American family arrive today and it’s been ages since we’ve seen them - very excited)

Then watch the football this evening with the kids while DP goes on his night shift, probably ribs, chicken and fries for dinner but could be persuaded otherwise if any of the kids have a real craving.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 06/08/2022 10:18

I'm having a very quiet day ,washing is on ,one load already done and pegged out. Need to think about food for later. Plan to read in the garden and put my feet up😊

NiqueNique · 06/08/2022 10:21

We’ve just had coffee in bed.

DH is getting ready to do some work on a cabinet he’s restoring. I’m going to make him toast and tea in a minute, then I’ll get busy with some things I want to do (nothing exciting - tidying, organising, washing up). After that we’ll relax for a bit, maybe go for a walk. No plans for the day, really, other than getting some of the chores and DIY done.

Later I’ll wrap some gifts for my niece’s 1st birthday, which I’ll need to post next week.

I’m going to make seafood spaghetti marinara for dinner.

Every time I read one of these threads I think about your lovely crochet creations @lucysmam - we’ve met on the Christmas threads - and how I really ought to fish out my yarn and hook and start learning. Maybe today will be the day where I actually do it!

SarahShorty · 06/08/2022 10:31

Just finished a bowl of porridge waiting for the bed clothes to finish washing. Then going out to do the weekly shop and enjoy my new-to-me car. Then later today am off to see my in-laws for a meal and plucking up the courage to ask my MIL how long it took her to get pregnant as I'm getting really down with TTC #1 at the moment. I'll try to get her alone if DH and BIL can clear off to other parts of the house for a bit as I don't really want to ask such a question at the dinner table! Will be interesting to hear what she says.

JulyDreams · 06/08/2022 10:33

All sounds amazing. I have to say I am rather jealous of some of these. I'll be lucky to get 5 minutes to make myself a cup of tea these days. I'll try and have a nap at some point today after I've done the tenth washing load of this week, also would be amazing to also have a shower at some point to dry some of the sick off me. The joys of having a newborn Grin

WaitingForWinter1 · 06/08/2022 10:37

My Grandchildren are still away on holiday, so not seeing them this weekend. I've fed the cat, had the washer on twice, pegged it all out, watered the garden (hanging baskets and potted plants), read the paper, had some cereal and coffee, had a shower and washed my hair, got dressed, and now I'm going to hoover up before going to the shop. Other than that, I've got nothing planned.
