Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just finishing my first cup of tea of the day, I've been watching the wood pigeons flit about the back garden for the last half hour or so while I've been drinking it.

The washer's done one load, and a second's in. I need to wash up too but that can wait.

I'm off to get the girls up when I've finished my drink. We're off to our local Pride festival for a while, possibly meeting a friend there.

We'll need to walk back into town at some point this afternoon - I need a birthday card for my Dad and want to start uniform shopping <joy!>. They don't need much, I just want to spread out the cost.

I haven't thought about tea yet 🤷‍♀️

Later on, I want to fill in a form to make some changes to the Rainbow and Guide accounts for my units and pick up one of my crochet projects. Dd2 has plans to Minecraft with her friend, and dd1 has been bingeing Gilmore Girls so will probably carry on with that.

Oh I do need to go out and look for a dish drainer. Our dishwasher packed it in last week and we’re going to do without for a month to see how much electricity it was using. As it’s just the two of us we may decide not to get another.

Hungover and feeling down because summer is almost over (where I live). Feel like I ought to be making the most of the last of summer and go out and pick berries or swim in the lake but the skies are grey and it doesn't look very inviting out there.

So now I'm drinking tea and trying to decide what to do. DD is still sleeping and DS is about to go for his nap so I might just watch some tv.

Going to heat up the sauna tonight, this is the last month we can really do that because next month we're switched to a far higher electric rate so it'll cost too much to heat up. Perhaps I'll go for a swim while its heating then go straight into the warmth after the cold lake.

I have to do my tax return. 😞
I’ve tried to do it several times but every time I get in to it someone interrupts me.
I’ve been doing so much washing and housework to try and avoid it but I go back to work soon after a 2 week holiday and won’t have the time then.

Taking dc shoe shopping. I've left it a bit late as their go to their dads tomorrow for the last week of the holidays so it really is our last chance. Hope we find what we need 😬. Just chilling with a coffee as was working last night (to pay for said shoes 😆) but woke at my normal time so feeling a bit tired.

I'm packing to go to DM's tomorrow. Done the clothes, still got to do everything else... DH offered to help but I'd rather he didn't!

DC are sitting on our bed, DD8 is playing a game on her tablet and DS4 is watching her. They've been following drawing tutorials on YouTube this morning but I don't care about screen time because they're being nice to each other, which makes a change.

After lunch we're going to go for a walk, maybe to the park. DH hasn't left the house all week due to work and the DC will need some exercise after a screen heavy morning.

Sausages and puff pastry for dinner.

Half way through the holiday washing, everyone else is still in bed and I'm enjoying the silence.

Food shopping later and bbq for tea.

Had a job interview this morning, did the washing up and put the hedge cutter on charge. Courgette, green beans and sweet potato fries for dinner after we've shifted the logs into the woodshed.

Now THAT sounds like an interesting night 🤣

We’re picking up DSD and hoping for a wee day out somewhere, weather permitting 🙄 I can already see I’ll do more harm than good by walking though, I’m 23 weeks pregnant and my hips have decided to protest against any form of physical movement whatsoever.

Tonight probably just chill with a board game and some snacks.

I crawled out of bed an hour ago. Just had a shower and got dressed.
Now waiting for DH to finish getting ready so we can get to the pub for lunch and football.
Other than that, nothing. Perfect.

Haha definitely not fairytale material but I'm recently divorced so it's nice to know I'm not dead from the neck down 😁

That happened to me many years ago! Hope you are feeling better now. We're driving back home from a mini break of hiking. Not looking forward to being back in the city. I want to move!

@Natsku Are you in Finland? Sounds idyllic. I'm in Italy and I can't wait for the summer to be over.

I'm dog/cat/house sitting for DD and family while they are away on holiday. I'm on day 3. In between dog walks I'm slowly working my way through the house as I promised her a deep clean. I'm on my 6th load of washing as I'm doing all the blankets /fleeces /bedding etc.
I'm popping out in a bit for a botox appointment, and calling for some cleaning products, then I'm planning a nap.
My other DD takes over this evening so I'm looking forward to seeing my own house and dog !

DS is returning from a week at camp today, so in all likelihood a great deal of washing & clearing out his trunk!

I'll head to the yard this afternoon to do some riding, then home before DH heads out with his band. I probably won't do any massively complicated meals for the DC this evening but will plan something nice for tomorrow.

Will probably use my free evening after the DC are in bed to catch up on work, alas.

Did parkrun with my dog, came home and popped on a beef joint to roast and now away to clean house and sort washing

Yeah I am. It is lovely here in summer, short but glorious, just always ends too soon and I missed most of this year being in the UK for a long holiday.

I think Italian summer would kill me!
