We've been lucky enough to have a wonderful holiday and we're leaving tomorrow :(

It's just struck me that I will miss the bidet Grin

What impossible things would you love to keep from your summer hols?

The weather

underneaththeash · 05/08/2022 12:18

The view of the sea when I wake up.

DelilahBucket · 05/08/2022 12:40

I always miss the fresh fruit and veg, especially tomatoes.

igivein · 05/08/2022 12:41

The swimming pool - it’s just not the same at home

Antarcticant · 05/08/2022 12:42

A beach within 10 minutes' walk.

Itsthelookitsthelook · 05/08/2022 12:43

The beach. Don't even need the good weather!

fridacakehole · 05/08/2022 13:18

Getting out of the water and drying off naturally....sigh...

The sea

Alfenstein · 05/08/2022 13:21

Does the sun count!

DelurkingAJ · 05/08/2022 13:22

Carrot rapee (yes, I know I could make it but I’d like to just buy it at the supermarket)

ImTheOnlyUpsyOne · 05/08/2022 13:22

All members of staff including someone to give me fresh towels whenever I want

QforCucumber · 05/08/2022 13:24

No meal planning
no washing up
air con
mid afternoon naps

I love holidays

Duvetdweller · 05/08/2022 13:25

A breakfast buffet with cut up fruit

TheWayTheLightFalls · 05/08/2022 13:30

The contents of the supermarket!

Brigante9 · 05/08/2022 14:20

The house/grounds.

easyday · 05/08/2022 14:22

The pottery. Spain - I love it. I have brought lots back, sone have broken in transit. Now of course you can get stuff here but back then you couldn't and it's much cheaper there.
The clean dry air, the views, the lack of feeling I should be doing the laundry/paperwork/vacuuming...

balalake · 05/08/2022 14:35

My most recent holiday was in France. I'd like to be able to take home their style and people on these shores have it.

Sgtmajormummy · 05/08/2022 14:42

A massive jar of Marmite from the UK. I can only bring back the mini pots in my hand luggage.
(Me: But it’s not a liquid!
Airport security: Well it’s certainly not a solid!)

All the fruit and veg from the market in Croatia but especially the white bell peppers.

onmywayamarillo · 05/08/2022 14:45

I miss the smell of sun, sea, thyme, herb, and lemon scented hill sides of Greece

If I could bottle it I would

A580Hojas · 05/08/2022 14:52

The blissfully empty, quiet and immaculately clean roads and all the incredible beautifully kept municipal floral displays in the towns and villages (Normandy).

minipie · 05/08/2022 15:06

Warm evenings and eating dinner outside

Views. I love hill/sea views but live in a city.

UpdateStoleMyProfile · 05/08/2022 15:18

The minimalism. The just having enough for a few days and not having a house bursting at the seams with school uniforms and sports kits and winter clothes and Christmas stuff and cooking stuff and clothing in the next sizes up and all the rest of it.

its 60% stuff we need and 40% stuff we’ve just accumulated and I couldn’t actually live forever with just the contents of our suitcases.

but I love the feel of that crisp clean clear empty but welcoming room and I’d bring that home if I could.
