Has anyone tried one of those Brazillian steakhouses?

The kind where they carve various types of meat onto your plate and have a bunch of sides to go with it? Are they worth the money? It's for a small birthday gathering.

TIA

I've been to one in Brazil and it was epic! Not sure how useful that is though sorry Grin
Its a great sociable experience if the reviews indicate the food is good quality. Way, way, way too much meat though!

LilacLaurel · 26/07/2022 15:16

Yes we have been to Fazenda probably 5 or 6 times. They are expensive but as a treat I do think they are worth it, I would check reviews on fb/google/Tripadvisor for the specific one first though. You have to go prepared to eat a lot though!

orangeisthenewpuce · 26/07/2022 15:17

If you love meat they are worth they money

yonce · 26/07/2022 15:18

Amazing IMO - but you need to enjoy meat and have an appetite to make it worth it! Several in Manchester City centre that are really enjoyable.

NooNakedJacuzziness · 26/07/2022 15:18

I've been to Viva Brazil in Cardiff, thought it was good value. You turn your placemat to the red side if you don't want a certain dish/are full up and switch to green when you're ready to go again!

Echobelly · 26/07/2022 15:18

I like them - you do get very full! My husband calls them 'infinimeat restaurants' 😁

HipsterCoffeeShop · 26/07/2022 15:25

I love them. Fazenda is great if you have a branch near you.

I love a good salad bar and the endless meat is amazing. Fantastic for a good blowout. Pace yourself though and don't pile your plate too high to start with!

Workyticket · 26/07/2022 15:27

Yes - we go to the one in Newcastle a lot and really rate it.

Ds loves the garlic steak, dh favours the chicken livers and I'm a massive fan of the cheesy steak (cooked in parmesan)

Ponderingwindow · 26/07/2022 15:29

So yummy.

skip lunch.

StrangeCondition · 26/07/2022 15:40

I also like Fazenda but I always eat too much and end up getting the meat sweats

edwinbear · 26/07/2022 15:41

Been to one in Mexico and went back to the same hotel the following year just for the Brazilian steakhouse!

modgepodge · 26/07/2022 15:43

I’ve been to Cara Brazil in Southampton a couple of times and it is good. If you like meat that is 😂 also went to one near Covent Garden which I suspect was a bit more authentic, and very delicious.

Workyticket · 26/07/2022 15:44

The one in Newcastle-upon-Tyne is a Rio Steakhouse!

FatToFitPart3 · 26/07/2022 15:47

Really great, and look on Groupon, there’s often deals on there for some of them.

Divebar2021 · 26/07/2022 15:47

I went to one in Wimbledon but didn’t rate it… the meat was not tender and I ended up with horrible indigestion. I’d rather eat one beautiful steak rather than a pile of that again.

BarbaraofSeville · 26/07/2022 15:47

Do you like to eat large portions of meat?

If yes, you'll like it, if not, you'll probably be full/fed up after a normal meal sized amount and then feel a bit ripped off because you've paid a lot of money for some very average food.

Mushroo · 26/07/2022 16:05

Yes they’re good! The little cheese bread you get to start is amazing.

depending on the chains near you, I think Fazenda is much better than Bem Brazil and worth paying the extra for

NightmareSlashDelightful · 26/07/2022 16:11

It’s a bit quantity over quality. (Went for a leaving do once.) Not bad, just average. You get a far better steak at a Gaucho, CAU or Hawksmoor.

The one I went to was also very loud and we could barely hear each other speak but then a lot of restaurants are like that.

BryceQuinlanTheFirst · 26/07/2022 16:13

If you like meat yes.

I found the sides and salad bit very ordinary but meat was nice

CMOTDibbler · 26/07/2022 16:29

I've been a lot to ones in Brazil and the US. They are OK, but what I like are all the sides, the salad bar thing, the cheese bread etc, and just can't eat a lot of meat (and I am not a two lettuce leaves and I'm full person) so I don't get the full experience tbh

liveforsummer · 26/07/2022 17:07

Yes and it was amazing. Well worth it as dd is a huge meat lover and ate more than any adult in the place and the kids price is very fair even though adults is pricey

iklboo · 26/07/2022 17:20

Yes. Both Bem Brasil & Fazenda. They're very good and you can choose whether or not you want some of what they bring round.

Damnautocorrect · 26/07/2022 17:22

The one near me is halal so that’s us out.

KaloolaDeBue · 26/07/2022 17:24

Yes both Fazendas and Estabulo Rodizio which we prefer.

I have two teen sons, they can get through a lot of meat and it is nice to have choices. Ds2 in particular loves the gammon with pineapple, chicken thighs, pork belly, rump with garlic, sausages and of course file-minjon. In fact we are going on GCSE results day at his request.

So yes although there is the argument that you can get a decent steak somewhere else you cannot get the choice that these places offer. I tap out before Dh, Ds1 and Ds2 but it is a lovely meal. Turn your coaster to green and bring me meat.

MintyGreenDreams · 26/07/2022 17:24

Don't eat the carbs from the buffet they fill you up fast.
Don't drink a lot of beer before hand as that fills you up too!
