Received confirmation of my classification today. First class honours degree via the OU in Health & Social care.

Feeling pretty pleased with myself. I left school with zero GCSE’s. Just couldn’t even be bothered to turn up to the exams.

I am 32 with 3 kids who are all at secondary school. I work for Mind in a role that offers me plenty of autonomy and it’s very rewarding.

Just wanted to shout it from the rooftops as prior to starting my OU degree I used to have a reoccurring dream that I woke up in year 10. I would feel so happy at the “second chance” only to obviously wake up again.

Since enrolling on my course I never did have that reoccurring dream again. 🍾 🫧

Thank you all so much. Have tears in my eyes reading these comments.

Yes all three will be coming to my graduation along with my husband. With the OU you can usually book quite a few tickets so we will make a special day of it.

I thought I was on track for a 2:1 so I was absolutely over the moon to discover I had achieved the first.

Congratulations, that didn't happen by accident or with luck.

You can't get a first without hard work and effort.

It's also far more difficult as a mature student as you've family life etc to juggle.

Celebrate, show off & be proud!

coodawoodashooda · 19/07/2022 21:12
