I'm just drinking my brew, in silence. The fridge is humming away quite loudly actually & I can hear the birds, so not totally silent but the girls aren't talking at me 🤣

I need to iron, nip to Asda and finish the coming week's story props. Tiddler this time. I might make blue playdough too.

No prep for Rainbows and Guides this week - we have a visitor coming so I just need to take a few payments & tick off who's there. I do have a few admin bits but they might wait until the summer hols now.

The girls have some last bits of homework for the year so I'll get them to sit down here with me while I paint. Should be a fairly slow day, hopefully.

We'll have pork loin steaks for tea with some sort of salad but not sure what yet. Maybe some roast potatoes with garlic and herbs. Fruit and ice cream for afters 😋

What about all of you? 🙂

Well I was planning on sunbathing and dipping in and out of the pool all day but it’s currently thick cloud overhead so am sat in my bikini in my lounge expectantly waiting for the sun to make a bid for freedom. Was up early and done all my housework type jobs. So that’s satisfying

Morning @lucysmam

I’m in Scotland and it’s a rainy start to the day, though it’s a bit of a relief!

Only me and DH up, kids still asleep which is unheard of. I’m cuddling the cats and about to have a cup of tea.

We have lots of family meet ups planned today which will be lovely.

Quiet night tonight as DH and I are back to work tomorrow.

autumnboys · 17/07/2022 08:57

Ds1 & 3 have both gone off to work. Ds3 is still asleep. DH has been to church to do some set up and is back later for a service.

DS3 has his school residential tomorrow, so when he wakes up, we need to check all his stuff and pack the bags. DS2 is going as a helper and DS1 is driving him up there tonight.

it’s very quiet here at the moment. We will BBQ at some point later today.

Dog already walked, getting ready to go away tomorrow for a few days

Narcheska · 17/07/2022 09:00

It’s already hot and sunny here so will set up the garden for the little ones with paddling pool and sand pit.

before they go outside I’m going to give the kitchen a good clean.

DH has a football friendly so he’ll be out all morning.

then I think I’ll chill in the shade with a nice cool Diet Coke doing some embroidery on a t shirt I’m making DD while the kids play in the garden.

we’re monthly meal planning at the moment to keep costs down so dinner is sausage and mash but might do them on the bbq instead with some bbq pineapple and halloumi skewers and salad

ThisIsNotARealAvo · 17/07/2022 09:02

I'm drinking some peppermint tea in bed. DH and DS are still asleep and DD is at a sleepover. I need to go out later for some end of term presents for some colleagues, I want to go now while it's cooler but nothing will be open until 11 (London).

Later will be the usual ironing and tidying ready for the week. We will be having chicken and salad for dinner.

Feeling very glad it's the last week of term, especially as I break up on Tuesday but the DC don't finish until Friday.

Funkyslippers · 17/07/2022 09:04

Just finishing my 1st cuppa of the day with the fan on, contemplating making breakfast.

Going to bodypump later then carrying on packing for our Portugal holiday on Tues 😊. May go for a walk later as have cat feeding to do. Omelettes for tea 😋

fancypants124 · 17/07/2022 09:05

Just cleaned the windows, watered the garden. Off to Liverpool to visit my eldest daughter for lunch.

WhatWouldHopperDo · 17/07/2022 09:07

We were supposed to be up and out for 8 to go to DHs work yard to clean the car. However, BIL and SIL came round last night and a bit too much tequila was consumed!!

We’re half heartedly gathering stuff to pack for holiday, we leave next Saturday. DDog is lying in front of the fan. DCs are still
in bed.

I need to do some interview prep for Wednesday (promotion pending so feeling the pressure!)

DH and DCs are going to the cinema later so a nice quiet early evening for me and the dog.

Macaroni cheese for dinner.

Igo · 17/07/2022 09:15

Sat in the garden drinking a cup of coffee.

Dh debated on taking the dog for a walk…he’s been told not a chance it’s 22 degrees already!

Both kids are still in bed.

I’ve put a loaf on bread on in the bread maker to have sausage and egg sandwiches around 10.30/11

I have to clean the bathroom and wash the school uniform, then it’s just a chilled day! We are not too far from Fairford so hoping to see a few of the RIAT planes go over and for dinner I might do some chicken and veg kebabs on the bbq and a bit salad it’s too hot to cook properly.

Minimalme · 17/07/2022 09:15

Morning all!

I will get the kids to decorate the paper bags to put teacher gifts into, sew my youngest a bunny and start on a quilted jacket for me.

Planning to stay in as it will be really hot, but might pop out just to show my limbs to the sun and have done with it!

CourtneeLuv · 17/07/2022 09:15

Not a lot. Not planning on going out or getting dressed, unless I go to the shop for more ice cream. But of prep for next week but otherwise my arse is not leaving my sofa Grin

PermanentTemporary · 17/07/2022 09:17

Driving 2 hours each way to take ds to a sport competition in the middle of nowhere 🙄

MonkeyPuddle · 17/07/2022 09:18

I am currently lounging on the sofa with the kids watching Bluey. DP is upstairs folding laundry.
Todays plans include making a thank you card for DS’s teacher for the end of term, several dunks in the paddling pool, visiting my mum and then going to my cousins for tea. Lovely.
I usually work Sundays so it’s lovely to have a lazy day snuggling and playing with my children.

Simonjt · 17/07/2022 09:25

We’re in the forest of dean today in our little converted stable, we’re surrounded by woodland so the shade means it doesn’t get quite as hot as you’re not in direct sunlight.

Nothing much planned today, some last minute panicking for our final court day tomorrow, we received an email on Saturday to say it was going ahead, we were worried the heat might have an impact if staff use the train to get there etc. We’re not sure whether to attend as its a three hour drive and in the red heat zone, so it looks like we will most likely miss it. But we will have a celebration hearing at a later date when we aren’t all boiling alive.

We’ve got the paddling pool out, and a MN favourite the hot tub, but we’ll be doing less of the hot today.

Grandma is coming to see us later, so it will be another day of my son getting away with murder because Grandma’s simply can’t say no.

We should probably clean, but as its technically a stable we’ll most likely go for the lived in look, as in it looks like a horse still lives here…

DecimatedDreams · 17/07/2022 09:25

I've got a stack of work to do. Instead, I'm tidying and changing beds and will do some sitting in the sun. My garden only gets the sun on the patio until about 1, so I'll try to find the motivation to start work then.

MackenCheese · 17/07/2022 09:28

Just got back from a walk and just filling the paddling pool up and having a cup of tea now before the teens get up. Looking to buy a ready roasted chicken from the supermarket later, and then I won't have to put the oven on!

familyissues12345 · 17/07/2022 09:29

I'm not feeling 100%, the hot weather always makes me feel a bit meh - slightly jippy stomach, lethargic etc. I was hoping to nip into town but I might give it a miss and do some work prep instead

WeAllHaveWings · 17/07/2022 09:57

Rearranging ds's room and building some flat pack furniture.

Working later in US timezone (2pm until midnight-ish) for cut over of phase 1 of a 5 year project that we have been working ridiculous hours on for 18 months.

drinkingwineoutofamug · 17/07/2022 10:01

Morning all.
Been up since 6:30, buggered body clock.
Washing from last night on the line. Floors moped , bathroom and kitchen clean.
Got daughter and her boyfriend round later for a bbq , so need to nip to our local Tesco for further supplies.
Making shepherd salad and Oliver salad and forgot the potatoes, carrot , gerkins and peas 🙄

drinkingwineoutofamug · 17/07/2022 10:02

Oh and olives.
Enjoy your day folks

dementedma · 17/07/2022 10:04

Overdid it yesterday( fibro) so nothing planned for today at all other than chucking unironed laundry into the bedrooms of the respective owners. Still in bed with coffee and cat.
Stuffed peppers and salad for dinner.

CheerfulYank · 17/07/2022 10:08

I have to work (I’m a liquor store clerk in the US) from 10:30 until around 6. It’s 4 am here currently.

And then I am DETERMINED to paint my bathroom. It’s half painted and looks ridiculous.

It’s my oldest son’s birthday on Monday, and I need to get a few things for that.

InFiveMins · 17/07/2022 10:13

Morning all.

A very chilled day planned here today. It's overcast but warm, no sun expected, so we've decided to stay in and do some general pottering.

I have a book I'd like to finish so might sit outside reading for an hour or so, might listen to a podcast or an audiobook for another hour.

We've already done our Sunday chores so looking forward to a nice lazy day here.

I'll be making a roast chicken for tea with some roasted vegetables and a few chips.

Choopi · 17/07/2022 10:31

Not a lot. One of our dogs is sick and clinging to me like a limpet so probably a lot of sitting around with her until the meds the vet gave us kick in. She had me up half the night anyway being unsettled so I don't mind a bit of lazing around. The kids and dh will probably laze around the back garden but it's too hot for a sick dog so it's the couch for us.
