I'm just drinking my brew, in silence. The fridge is humming away quite loudly actually & I can hear the birds, so not totally silent but the girls aren't talking at me 🤣

I need to iron, nip to Asda and finish the coming week's story props. Tiddler this time. I might make blue playdough too.

No prep for Rainbows and Guides this week - we have a visitor coming so I just need to take a few payments & tick off who's there. I do have a few admin bits but they might wait until the summer hols now.

The girls have some last bits of homework for the year so I'll get them to sit down here with me while I paint. Should be a fairly slow day, hopefully.

We'll have pork loin steaks for tea with some sort of salad but not sure what yet. Maybe some roast potatoes with garlic and herbs. Fruit and ice cream for afters 😋

Not a lot. Put a load of laundry on, loaded dishwasher, took out rubbish. I'm sitting here dregs of tea with air purifier blowing slightly cool air on me (it's 29 degrees). Waitrose has delivered and I'm wondering if I can be bothered going out for the paper.
My daughter had her week long course at one of her uni options cancelled yesterday so she's down in the dumps.

Working in my nylon uniform with no windows or air con. I shouldn't really complain as its going to be worse for everyone tomorrow. Two more hours, then home time and a nice cool drink

DH took the dogs down by the river before the sun gets too high.

Got a wash on the line, folded yesterday's, made chicken and rice for the dogs, one of which has a poorly tummy. Hope it's just the heat but she has form for eating long dead nasties. They are all laying spread out in the shade just now and seem comfortable.

Took a load of tiny white metal dolls's house furniture outside and sprayed them a more witchy black, for my cafe. I did it on the woodpile, which is waiting for the arrival of the new shed, so we have an interesting black woodpile now.

Trying to incorporate a dozen more eggs into the meal planning, as a kind friend brought some round to us. What with DH's serendipity shopping, some meals can be quite a surprise. I had short expiry date vegetable samosas for brunch and I think egg mayo will feature for supper.

I have a new book which I'm dying to read but first I've got to locate a small piece of desk drawer handle, which pinged off somewhere, probably under the sofa. Hells bells.

Had a lie in as still recovering from some jet lag... I went to work for 3 hours in the morning, had a quick lunch and getting ready to do another 3 hours now. I'm meeting a friend for dinner later. Might put a load of towels in the washer...

Lying on my garden sofa listening to the birds eating a clotted cream strawberry scone and drinking a blood orange gin and slimline garnished with fruit and herbs from my garden.

Out to dinner with my OH later, phoned the pub to check they were still open but its actually quite cloudy and the temp has dropped quite a bit today so all good.
