Universal credit risk review team ? Whay is this

So I have a message on my uc saying I have an appointment coming up with the risk review team can someone give me an insight as to what on earth that means or what it’s about

Hey, I still haven’t heard anything as of yet. Been on their case and just keep getting the same response back. Some departments take longer than others and they haven’t got back to us yet. But my argument is how long are they going to leave me like this.

I’ve had the same message, that my claim doesn’t seem legitimate and I’ve had to send pages of proof of identity, including my sons school letters,gp and pictures of me outside my house and indooors. Contract of employment, passports, wage slips.
sent it all off but was due my payment Friday and not been sent it as it’s suspended.
i have a 6 year old and 36 weeks pregnant with my second and worried my claim wont be looked at in time for my baby arriving, I can’t afford to have this baby during this going on. Has anyone had any replies back after sending the proof?

Mine was resolved after a month nut they did not suspend my payments.

Mine has been going on since August 17th I’ve missed 2 payments since then and all I keep getting is ‘it takes certain departments longer in some situations we will try and resolve this as soon as possible’ doing my head in. Given everything and more. Not sure what else they want to be honest.

How have you been getting by with rent, bills and shopping? I have just had my first missed payment and I have nothing else except child benefit and DLA which all together is 367 for this month... as I'm on unpaid maternity leave due in 3 weeks to have my baby and worried about how I'll pay things to keep us in our house and baby warm.. house is freezing atm and can't put any money on the gas 😭

Have you tried a UC complaint? And/or raising it with your MP? That should speed things up.

I haven’t been able to pay rent so as you can imagine landlady is on my case. But they don’t seem to care. I work full time but I’m a single mother so it’s hard trying to juggle everything on the little wage I do get. I’ve contacted MP really hoping they can do something because they are genuinely taking the mick with it now. Read somewhere though, one persons case took 11 months to review! I’ll be homeless if it takes that long because my landlady will not wait that long.

Did you get a message saying you had feedback on your documents a couple days after posting them?

Nope no message of any feedback. They said my documents looked okay they’re just reviewing it all. I have no idea what it means.

I just had 'Thankyou for uploading documents' in a 'feedback to documents' in my journal and I literally don't know if this is good or just gonna take ages, no one will give any advice to me from them and they're all being so rude :(

Yeah I lost my temper a little on one of the messages and sort of questioned why there wasn’t a set time frame for these things to adhere to. There was a set time frame for us to upload our documents in so I was confused why they are allowed to have our documents and stop payments for more or less as long as they feel like. The person kept saying that certain departments are held up. So I asked her to contact said departments and ask for an update. I have heard nothing since.

Have the review team called you since you handed in documents? They're calling me today or tomorrow and I'm wondering if it'll be bad, good or just tell me they're waiting to review still

No one has called me at all.

I got a message today actually asking for me to re send in the image of my passport as the original image wasn’t good enough. My question is though, why has it taken you two months to ask for a clearer image?

They're shocking, I'd call them everyday.
I called them every morning and night for the past two weeks and they've just sorted it out, think they got sick of me crying down the phone. But even still they were so rude about it and I am still putting a complaint in about the other people that are going through the same thing as I have done and still waiting as I think it's disgusting how long you've had to wait and other people I've spoken too

Send them as fast as possible and they said to me it would be a review phone call by today but instead of calling they've I suspended my payments and sent it

This is apalling how can this be right they should sort out all these problems before making more migrate

i have no idea how all of you are managing i thought UC was suppose to be easier to admin,clearly not

All of the answers you need are in the thread - read it from the start.
Most of these are for claims set up during COVID - the checks were less strict, but now they are reviewing these cases.

So i got the call i was dreading 😊 they said it will be 90mins but lasted only 15mins, they asked me if i held isa accounts or if i had savongs, who i live with, my rent and ect. Spent all this time panicking over nothing my anxiety levels hit the roof. Just got a msj on my journal saying review has been completed.
