DS is going for the open day this weekend and think he is going via the train. How easy is it to get from York train station to the university???

The Park and Ride to the Uni is going from Rufforth?

That's an interesting choice. Seeing as it's a village on the west of York.

You’d think it would be Elvington as it’s the right side of the city for the university.

I'm also surprised by people mentioning using the McArthur Glen park and ride when Grimston Bar is right by the uni!

York is a City so I doubt it will feel too small. The Uni is a campus out of the city
Other than the uni it’s not very diverse though

I think York feels (nicely) small. It's not racially diverse but has a very strong LGBT presence (town as well as gown), so that kind of diversity is there.

Hope those people who went are having / had a good time at York.

It was very enjoyable and well organised. DH dropped us off and then went and parked in the city and walked back to find us. DD liked the Uni but some of the accommodation at the cheaper end was a bit ropey so if she does apply there she will try for the newer ensuite blocks.
Me and DH took a trip down memory lane too (we met there)
