I have a horrible feeling he thinks he looks sexy/desirable. Many times I’ve seen him fiddling with his hair, tousling it up just before a photo opportunity.

An overweight, sweaty man who dresses badly and lies and cheats. Oh yes, VERY sexy!

notgreatthanks · 27/06/2022 02:39

Because his usp is bedraggled, muddled rogue. It allows him to get away with all sorts of shitty behaviour and play on the poor little boy who can't even brush his hair persona. When in reality he's a calculated, abhorrent human being who fully understands his actions but doesn't care.

KangFang · 27/06/2022 03:59

Because he's a pig.

RenegadeMatron · 27/06/2022 04:52

He thinks it’s endearing.

It only is to whatsername.

ChagSameachDoreen · 27/06/2022 04:59

I knew plenty of big posh lummoxes like him at university. It's all an act.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 27/06/2022 05:56

Everything that Johnson does is a calculated performance.
Jeremy Vine has a fascinating story about his behaviour.

PAFMO · 27/06/2022 06:15

He's an actor.
The hair, the bumbling idiot persona.
Deciding to be Boris instead of Alexander.

It's so we think he's not a very intelligent, calculating sociopath.

Oblomov22 · 27/06/2022 06:28

That Jeremy Vine article about his two speeches, it's just not funny. why would everyone be roaring at his jokes? none of them are funny. the lack of respect to the organisation and what it means and the award being given. it wasn't funny the first time and even less funny the second time.

PermanentTemporary · 27/06/2022 06:33

All of the above.

I do think he must be genuinely knackered a lot of the time. But more from avoiding the obligations he took on than fulfilling them. I would be certain he has at least one bit on the side by now, plus 2 exwives, current wife, multiple children from baby to adult, young dog, all the shady types who pay him large bungs for various reasons. and he's the fucking Prime Minister. God he's such a pathetic mess. And the country voted him in which makes him our mess. Boak.

Fantail · 27/06/2022 07:08

There’s absolutely no way he’d get away with looking like that if he was a woman.

easyday · 27/06/2022 07:08

@Oblomov22 you have to be a veteran of award dinners - I can quite believe it, plus it's all in the delivery.
One I went to had a very drunk David Frost speaking. I thought he was a bit ridiculous and not in point at all but he went down very well with the audience. The wine flows at these events...

DisplayPurposesOnly · 27/06/2022 07:08

I read recently about a thing called uncombable hair syndrome which apparently Johnson has (as did Einstein).

PAFMO · 27/06/2022 08:12

Except there are a million photos of Boris Johnson with perfectly normal hair.

There were massive rumours that he has a new mistress and that he and Carrie broke up. But she seems to be back by his side now

It’s all part of his act. It’s absolutely sickening that this is the best we can do, I’m so fed up of being mortified on the world stage.

SilverGlitterBaubles · 27/06/2022 08:19

It's part of his image and persona and it's all an act. In the same way that any negative headlines see him whisked off somewhere to wear a hard hat and high vis jacket or on a very important call to president Zelenskyy

EnjoyingTheSilence · 27/06/2022 08:24

I’m surprised that you’re not already aware that it is a carefully cultivated look. How he gets away with it I don’t know.

Flopisfatteningbingforchristmas · 27/06/2022 08:24

It’s deliberate. When he messes up or choose other inappropriate behaviour people are like its just crazy uncle Boris and all is forgiven. In all well dressed Mr Alexander Johnson such behaviour isn’t as easily accepted. It’s all very calculated.

Flopisfatteningbingforchristmas · 27/06/2022 08:25

That was a fascinating read

SausageAndCash · 27/06/2022 08:58

Haha at that Twitter link OP.

I have stopped referring to him by his first name.

It’s all part of the act, a big toddler with the tousled hair that illicits our affection and indulgence.

Nope. He is a grown man who has had every advantage in assisting him to great power, which he abuses, given him great responsibility, which he shirks, and a status, which makes him a national embarrassment.

Johnson.

IpanemaBelle · 27/06/2022 09:25

I read a quote by a Tory MP (unfortunately can’t remember who) he said ‘the problem with Boris is, he’s not good at governing, he’s only interested in being world king and shagging!’

That just about sums it up.

RudsyFarmer · 27/06/2022 09:40

I’m not that interested in hair. Putin and Hitler had very smart haircuts and no doubt could pick a pair of trousers that fit impeccably and yet both are genocidal psychopaths.

I quite enjoy his energy. He seems to have little regard for stuffy yes men and I rather enjoy that too.
