So I took my son who is 6 to the hellamega concert to see green day. Had permission from school all great. We had a brilliant time. BUT when everyone left we had to leave through the same gate not like when we went in. Trouble is my coach from London to Bristol was behind the metal gate they wouldn't let us out of. The crowd were amazing gave us room trued to help. In the end missed our coach with was a rubbish company and had over booked anyway. I had to get a taxi back £300 wasted.

Now I have a school trip that I have to attend with my son who has been on repeat about it. So hes going to tell the school and teachers whilst I sit and try to hide. Help me someone swap with me please

??? I don't get what the issue is? You had permission to take him, they're not gonna care.

Pinkflipflop85 · 26/06/2022 21:19

Why do you need to hide? Talk about mountain out of a molehill.

When I'm a teacher on a school trip my mind is on a million and one things throughout the day - mostly keeping every child safe. I doubt the teachers will give two hoots about what happened - if tour son even mentions it.

lucysmam · 26/06/2022 21:20

🤣 these things happen & my kids would be on repeat about it as well (they're 12 and 15). Style it out and make sure everyone knows what an amazing night you both had! I'm still boring anyone who will listen to me talk about The Killers a month ago.

What are you on about?

declutteringmymind · 26/06/2022 21:31

Honestly no one cares.

TheGoodburger · 26/06/2022 21:33

No one will care. The transport you wanted didn't work out so you got an alternative. No need for dramatics about what will people think.

HSKAT · 26/06/2022 21:33

Happens to people more often than you know.
It's fine

Buzlightyear1 · 26/06/2022 21:38

Thanks feel bit better now. Just he has not stopped talking about it over and over. Just a really rubbish end, things haven't been great lately and this was supposed to be something good. 😂

Why are you worried about your son talking about the concert?

underneathleaf · 26/06/2022 21:40

So basically you missed your bus? Have I understood the story correctly? This is the sort of thing children witter on to me excitedly about and I nod and smile while thinking about what I'm teaching that afternoon.

TabithaTittlemouse · 26/06/2022 21:42

You missed the bus and you are going on a school trip?
Have fun.

Choice4567 · 26/06/2022 21:43

I don’t understand. What is he going to tell people?

UnshakenNeedsStirring · 26/06/2022 21:43

I dont understand what the issue is? You missed a bus so got a taxi? Am I missing something?

Hellocatshome · 26/06/2022 21:43

No one will care.

Mummyoflittledragon · 26/06/2022 21:55

It sounds like the coach left before all the concert goers could leave the venue. This is disgusting and the company should have ensured the driver was paid enough to wait until you were all out. Why are you blaming yourself?

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 26/06/2022 21:58

How did a 6 year old get in to a green day concert?

How did a 6 year old get in to a green day concert?

With a ticket I'd assume, there don't tend to be age limits on concerts.

How did a 6 year old get in to a green day concert?

This was my thought.

RavenousBugblatter · 26/06/2022 22:03

There are minimum age limits on some concerts - I looked at one recently that had a minimum age limit of 14.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 26/06/2022 22:03

@MolliciousIntent there are with some artists and I can imagine there would be with green day. Have you heard their music? My DD wanted to see Biffy Clyro with me at that age and it's usually 14 or over.

Needmorelego · 26/06/2022 22:03

As a Green Day fan I am very impressed by your 6 year old going !! Wow. Lucky kid.
I am also confused by what you are worried about. To him it would have been unbelievably exciting to gone in a taxi so that plus the concert is something that if his is going to talk about it will all be about it being the Best Day Ever (and probably impress several teachers).
However I would look into seeing if you can get some compensation from the coach company because they shouldn't have left without you.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 26/06/2022 22:05

Just googled it and it's 5 and over. Under 16's with an adult. Surprised

GrazingSheep · 26/06/2022 22:06

Why did you need permission from his school to take him to a concert on a Sunday?

GrazingSheep · 26/06/2022 22:08

Apologies- I think I misread your post - thought concert was today.
Nobody will care about the bus.

TalkedTooMuchStayedTooLong · 26/06/2022 22:10

I'm going to Hella Mega on Wednesday... tickets says over 14...
