Angel Delight, did I get it wrong? 😇

Is it smooth, soft whip consistency or does it hold its shape and has bubbles?

Hadnt had it in years, eyeballed the 300 ml of milk.

Husband said it had a strange texture, thick with bubbles. He said it should be soft and smooth.

Who’s right?

Butterscotch ice cream from Iceland is a winner, put a big dollop in chocolate milkshake for a great thick shake after eating a large amount straight from the tub first

Strawberry angel delight makes phenomenally creamy ice lollies 🍭 my kids loved them 😁

Afterfire · 24/06/2022 19:35

Bubbles and has to be made with full fat milk to be as delicious as possible.

modgepodge · 24/06/2022 19:38

You can make angel delight up a bit runny and freeze it in lolly moulds and it’s like mini milks. Butterscotch mini milks, mmmmm….

doesn’t actual angel delight have milk powder in? So no good for non dairy drinkers anyway? I could be wrong though.

Instant Whip was for everyday, Angel Delight was much posher and for a rare treat only.

1970s food was so different to today's.

Back in the 1970s we used to have a strawberry dessert called Sweetheart. It was a thick syrup with fruit pieces suspended in it. Came in a tin. You whipped it up with milk and left it to thicken. We preferred it to Angel Delight, I'm afraid! www.doyouremember.co.uk/memory/sweetheart-dessert

I could murder a butterscotch angel delight right about now Grin

I have two packs in the cupboard...and a Freddo Frog I can grate over the top.
