What time to go to Wembley for Harry Styles concert

I have for me and my DDs got tickets to go to see Harry Styles tomorrow. They are pitch tickets (standing). The doors open at 4pm but I see that he isn't on stage until 8.45ish.

DD wants us to get there at 1pm to queue so that we can get closer to the front but my issue is that once you are in you are in and the thought of being stuck on the pitch for four hours after queuing outside for a further 3 hours really doesn't float my boat at all. I'd prefer to get there at around 5.30pm so I don't lose a whole day to this event.

Does anyone know what the score is with such tickets? Is DD right?

All I would add is that Wembley is well served with tubes but the area around Wembley is a dump. Run down and horrible but I guess if you are going into the arena you won’t see much of it. Last time I went the only food I saw being served in the stalls were burgers, chips, hot dogs and beer.

I regularly go to concerts like that and have tried a variety of approaches. I have queued all day to be in the front and also arrived later when I couldn’t get out of work!

i find the sweet spot is to arrive at the time it says the doors will open; no real queuing as you join the queue exactly when it starts moving so you get in pretty quick and end up in a decent spot but not wasting a whole day to it.

also consider how talk you both are etc? Some bands I love being right in the crowd down the front because of the atmosphere but the pay off is that if you get stuck behind someone tall, you can’t bloody see! If you want to be able to see the whole stage and the “show” element (not sure if Harry is known for this or not?!) then you will find that your tickets say “standing and unreserved seating”, which means that the lowest tier of seats is also available for free choice seating. It’s also generally pretty empty as people chose to be in the crowd….but this way you can end up seeing a lot!

so for Take That we got down the front right near the stage and then diverted up the stairs and into the seats, grabbed some about half way up, had a bloody great view and a seat! For a stadium show I find much better as there is usually lots of fancy staging that is a spectacle!

If you’ve spent money on tickets to this, you may as well commit to it wholeheartedly! It depends on where you and your DD will be happy to stand but I’d be inclined to take her lead in terms of knowing what time to start queuing to get a good position.

When he played at the O2 Academy Brixton in May, they had to BAN fans from camping out overnight the night before - they were ‘only’ permitted to start queuing twelve hours before the concert was due to begin! 😬

Unless she wants to squash up at the front next to the barrier there is no point in getting there at that time to queue. Wembley is a venue where you see the gig on screens.

Some great advice. We are all short so I have said that we are not going to see much unless we are right at the front which is never going to happen anyway as we are in the rear pitch.

@stratforduponavon yes, I remember this too. Another reason why I don't want to get there so early!

I think 1pm is a bit too soon. It‘ll be so hot and the heat/waiting might tire you out before the concert has even begun. Also it might not even be worth it because there will be many Harry Styles super fans who will have been there since way before one. So there may not even be much of a benefit to losing your whole day. I’d probably go when doors open at 4 then be honest that seems like a fair compromise.

DD saw him in Manchester the other night and ended up watching the screens because they were so far back. So getting there earlier might pay off.

My daughter is going - she is seated and very much at the back which is not to her liking. I told her to be grateful she had a ticket!

We had standing tickets for Pink a couple of years ago and it was the hottest day of the year. My DD wanted to be near the front (rear pitch like you) so we got there about 11am and had to queue down a ramp. Wembley handled it really well and had us in pens in order of arrival but as the day heated up they let us up to queue in the shade by the doors. Our doors didn't open till 6 (ish) and once through security we had to run to get to the front. As the doors didn't open quite as easy we didn't haveong to wait before the warm up acts started. Again, as it was hot the security guards were bringing us water as once you are in its hard to get out and keep your space.

You either need to get there early and suck it up that you will be uncomfortable for a few hours or wander in before he's going to start and accept you will be at the back.

Amazing experience but I would go seated from now on. There was no chance that you could get seats if you were standing as there was no way to get to them and it was sold out.

Have a great time. My other daughter is going tomorrow night and is so excited (she's 25 😀)

I realise Harry Styles will probably have an element of hysterical queuing...I recently saw the Killers. Doors opened at 5.30. We got there at 6, walked straight in. We were seated though so no issues about tgat. I'd do what PP said and go off to the seating, you may have a crap view from the rear pitch. There's always screens

The area around the venue is not a dump 🙄it's seen huge investment so loads of food places, restaurants and shops.

Can I just ask a really silly question?

For the same concert, what time should you arrive if you have seated tickets?

I'm a complete concert novice and equally don't fancy being there for hours before the show starts unnecessarily.

DD17 and her friends are getting the first train into London (6am) to queue all day. I vetoed camping out from the night before... they are determined to be right at the very front.

I used to do the same for concerts when I was that age. Nowadays I'm seating all the way!

I would usually work to the following schedule:

Desperate to get the front - pay the extra money, turn up no later than the early hours of the day if the concert. And be prepared to swelter and need a wee. I can’t do it any more as I’m too old and need a wee.

Any other standing - have a few drinks, get some decent food (there’s Boxpark at Wembley which usually has street food I think), you’re not getting near the front so turn up a couple of hours before the acts start and enjoy the support. If you want a non-squashed spot I usually head down the sides, or if the crowd is segregated, I’m front of a barrier or the mixing desk.

Seats - literally show up when you like. If you want to see the support do that, if you want to just see the main act, 8pm is plenty early enough

And from what I see for Harry Styles you needed to pay £200 a ticket, plus early entry, plus queue for days.

Tbh I thought prices were pretty reasonable for the Wembley shows - Certainly compared to other 'big' shows.

1pm tomorrow will be 27 degrees, but will feel like 30 and there will be little or no breeze in the stadium. Temperature will start to drop at 16:00.

My daughter went on Wednesday to Manchester. It was on the local news website. Harry on stage about 8.45pm, finished about 10.20pm. I picked her up so I know the finishing time

This is exactly what I'm thinking. More relaxed at the back. Access to loos and bar and more room to dance. We are in the blue zone - see you at the back!! 😀

You're a better woman than me OP. Harry Styles, I ask you! How old is your DD? Can't you give your ticket to a friend of your DD's and you pick them up and drop them off?
