Just met the most annoying shopper

avocadodi · 11/06/2022 19:27

Just got the actual rage from a shopper in our local supermarket.
Number 1. Huge queue of 7 shoppers. They called on the tannoy that they were opening a new till and said shopper (who was not even in huge queue) RAN at top speed down an aisle to join the new till queue.
Number 2. She parked her trolley in the queue and then decided she hadn't actually finished her shopping, so left her trolley in the queue with a few bits on the conveyor belt while she spent 10 minutes finishing her shop meaning no-one else could use that till.
Number 3. As we were packing our car up (in a normal space with our 3 year old as they were the only spaces available) she started unloading her shopping into a car in a parent and child space when she did not even have a child.

Who cares?

avocadodi · 11/06/2022 19:29

Mmmeeee. I care. Selfishness is not a good trait.

emuloc · 11/06/2022 19:29

You noticed that she was gone for 10 minutes? Was you stood around waiting for her to come back to the till?

Antigonads · 11/06/2022 19:31

Was you?

Dear lord.

glamourousindierockandroll · 11/06/2022 19:33

Ten minutes? Surely the staff would have moved it out of the way

avocadodi · 11/06/2022 19:33

I was at the back of the other queue. As I couldn't move onto the other till as all get shit was spread over the conveyor belt.

OP posts:
sittingonacornflake · 11/06/2022 19:34

That would give me the rage.

DropYourSword · 11/06/2022 19:35

Couldn't get too excited about the parking in the P&C space.
And seriously, no-one had the nous to just...move the shopping trolley?!

JuneJubilee · 11/06/2022 19:35

Yes, all those things are annoying but they're a 'fucksake' & eyeroll level. Not a 'start a thread' level.

RepublicOfNarnia · 11/06/2022 19:36

This would annoy me. I'm not sure why you're getting all these salty responses. Nothing in the world pisses me off more than un-selfaware people in public.

GeorgiaMcGraw · 11/06/2022 19:37

I'm with you OP, very poor form on her part, especially nabbing a parent and child space if she didn't need it, that really annoys me. It's just inconsiderate. I am judging her from afar Grin

And I don't know why the grinning emoji shows up as a bottle of booze (at least it does on my phone)...wishful thinking, perhaps?

emuloc · 11/06/2022 19:38

Meh I could not get worked up about where she was parked. You do seem to have spent a fair bit of time noticing this person though.

Squiff70 · 11/06/2022 19:39

TBF all three of those things would have given me the rage too.

LetHimHaveIt · 11/06/2022 19:40

That'd annoy me, too.

avocadodi · 11/06/2022 19:41

It was just the fact that she obviously felt she was far more important than everyone else there.

OP posts:
DockOTheBay · 11/06/2022 19:44

Going to the open till wouldn't bother me, that's pretty standard and just luck of the draw.

I don't understand why people wouldn't just overtake the stationary trolley when she abandoned it.

Parent and child thing would annoy me. However I an a hypocrite as I have parked in one when there was not a single other space available (our Aldi has a tiny car park). Dont see why a theoretical parent should reserve a space over an actual customer there right now.

RaininSummer · 11/06/2022 19:46

She sounds like a very entitled selfish toad.

avocadodi · 11/06/2022 19:46

They couldn't over take it as she parked it right up by the till down the tiny aisle and spread random food items up the conveyor belt so no one else could use it.
You couldn't reverse her trolley as there was people waiting behind and even if you pushed her trolley forwards out of the way then all her food was still spread up the belt.

These would all give me the rage and classic examples of selfish arseholes in this country. Obviously the op wouldn't bother some people as they are the people in mentioned above.

Antigonads · 11/06/2022 19:31

You are far more annoying than the annoying shopper.

I can get incandescent with rage with shit like some days, and then other days it doesn't bother me whatsoever. I don't know why OP is getting so many salty responses, either.... although maybe there's quite a lot of people on this thread who do all the things OP has illustrated regularly and feel they're absolutely entitled to behave as such.

Lots of people are astoundingly un-self aware, staggeringly so, and it quite often amazes me that a person can be quite so un-self aware and not have to deal with getting shit for it on a daily basis. Also, though, there's quite a lot of people who revel in just being entitled twats and love the confrontation when someone pulls 'em up on it. They, too, are twats.

I'd have been mildly fucked off with witnessing all three of the things OP witnessed in the supermarket today, too.

No, not me. I have more important things to get the "rage over", than what the Op listed here. Hth.
