What is this interview, what are any of them
trying to achieve? I cannot get on board with this.

Ahhhhhh that's why the name was familiar. Thank you all.

CurbsideProphet · 07/06/2022 22:31

Presumably trying to get everyone onboard with the idea that a biological male who says they're a female has no advantage over an actual biological female.

Pennox · 07/06/2022 23:06

You can censure and erase and delete and try to shut women up as much as you like MNHQ, but the tide has turned, haven't you noticed? Nobody believes these entitled people are what they claim to be anymore. They don't even really believe it themselves.

MissyCooperismyShero · 07/06/2022 23:50

Well said Pennox

Ffsjustltb · 07/06/2022 23:57

I am getting so sick of hearing about this all now. It's ridiculous. It's getting to be a right pain in my lady bollocks.

SlightlyGeordieJohn · 08/06/2022 00:04

It’s remarkable how quickly the story has changed from “trans women are women” to “trans women are female”

I understand that some statements of biological truth are not allowed to be written here, so won’t say anything more.

GCAcademic · 08/06/2022 00:09

Yes. Yes, it is. Just as many of us had foreseen, they weren’t content with taking the word “woman”, they then came after the word “female”. Men will not let us have words to describe our experience with. It’s colonisation, pure and simple. And I say that not flippantly, but as someone whose ancestors were colonised.

Liveliferun · 08/06/2022 00:15

Here is Bridges and another non-female knocking a woman off the podium first and second place

mobile.twitter.com/gunsandbanjos/status/1532975953290399745

Who benefits when males are allowed to compete in womens sports?

Liveliferun · 08/06/2022 00:16

I guess the second placed person is a “fellow female”, to borrow Bridges own phraseology

TotalRhubarb · 08/06/2022 00:20

Bit rich of Bridges to whinge about Boris having an opinion on the unfairness of biological males muscling in on sporting competitions for biological females, and then try to colonise the word 'female' and misapply it to people who are biologically male.

Seems like they are a total stranger to the concept of reality.

Penguintears · 08/06/2022 00:21

First they came for "women" and now it is "female".

What is really sinister IMO is that even on Mumsnet we're not allowed to say that men are men. Our protected beliefs are being censored. It is considered offensive and dangerous to say that people cannot change from men to women or male to female even though that is basic biology and in my DC's school textbooks (for now, before they come for them too).

IStandWithMaya · 08/06/2022 00:28

It's tiring, but we need to protest every single time before this becomes the accepted norm.

VeniVidiWeeWee · 08/06/2022 00:46

@GCAcademic G

"And I say that not flippantly, but as someone whose ancestors were colonised."

I'm English and my nation was colonised, (a number of times).

Your point is?

Bunty55 · 08/06/2022 01:33

Well Emily has rendered herself unfit for male or female sport now and rightly so IMHO

By ancestors, I mean my parent’s generation and back. So talking about being colonised is not about 1066 or some hyperbolic statement for me.

And your point?

jacintaq · 08/06/2022 01:49

Is that an interview about the race?

VeniVidiWeeWee · 08/06/2022 01:54

@GCAcademic

Oh, I'm so sorry.

I didn't realise that there were chronological limits on colonisation.

No problem. Apology accepted.

The ITV Twitter thread says
The one thing missing from a sea of often extreme views on trans athletes competing at a professional level has, until now, been her voice

I must say "her" voice rather seals the matter.

But what a sulky entitled person, whatever their gender identification.

Clymene · 08/06/2022 06:43

Liar and a cheat.
