Binley Mega Chippy

We are staying in Yorkshire for a few days, on our way back to London, our daughter is desperate to visit BMC in Coventry. I don't understand the excitement but it's not too much of a detour so I said yes - but we can't find out if it's open on Sunday evenings. Google says 24 hours, a photo of its opening times says closed all day, another website claims midday until 11pm. Does anyone know?

My kids chanted and talked about Binley's Mega Chippy ALL of half term. Drove me nuts Grin

I mean it is ridiculous of course, I've seen it float across tik tok and rolled my eyes.

I do think the dramatics about mind control are ridiculous though. I was a teenager in the nineties and we wore giant sweet dummies for gods sake and thought we were the bees knees. I grew up partly in the states and the stupidity over the most random crap was impressive. This sort of behaviour is hardly new.

Everyone gets excited about stupid stuff when they are teenagers (my father ...who is the epitome of grumpy 70 odd year old wore a neon shirt for a long time in the early 60's) the difference is the photographic evidence isn't as obvious.

Stop dramatising a chip shop that will literally be yesterday's chip papers next week. Its not quite the downfall of society anymore than dummies around the neck was in the nineties.

My DS nearly exploded a few days ago when his BMC video passed a million views. It's utterly mystifying to me.

I knew about this because even though I am most certainly not youthful some of the young lads I game with on my console were singing it down the mic.

I think we forget how stupidity and obsessions bind groups together. In the past we had clapping games and chants in the playground, little rhymes. Now it’s tik tok clips. I like this kind of popular culture when it’s something harmless.
