And had a blissfully peaceful night ahead without DP or dcs ......

What would you buy yourself to eat?

No calorie counting today, already had a comfort lunch of cheese & onion pasty & beans

So what can I go for?
What's your comfort Saturday night food?

When I threw exh out half a duck was my celebratory meal!!

Mommabear20 · 04/06/2022 14:54

Definitely wouldn't be going to Tesco if I had a night to myself! 😂 takeaway and a bottle of wine on the sofa with my duvet and a movie!

Fresh tuna steak, perfectly boiled egg, nice salad with good balsamic vinegar.

I'd possibly get a Tesco Finest meal deal for 2...think about £12? You get twice the dessert and a bottle of wine to yourself!

Oh yes. Excellent thinking there. Hopefully it would include dauphinois potatoes and lemon tart.

itsgettingweird · 04/06/2022 15:08

Bread, cheese, pate, grapes.

Most likely part baked baguettes so I could eat them when hot!

tootiredtoocare · 04/06/2022 15:11

I'd have a picky tea. Cheese, apple, pringles, garlic dip, sweet chili chicken skewers, crackers, a couple of Lindor chocolates, and a bottle of sloe gin.

GeometricCurtain · 04/06/2022 15:13

Tesco finest triple cheese mac & cheese to eat alongside a nice piece of steak. Something rich and chocolaty for dessert

OhThatChicken · 04/06/2022 15:19

Pate, stinky cheese, olives, my favourite kind of salami, an entire French stick and a bottle of red wine.

I'm actually a bit sad this isn't my Saturday night now!

Threeboysandadog · 04/06/2022 15:21

Vanilla ice cream - I’d probably eat the whole tub. We get Mackie’s in Scotland. It’s to die for. Sadly, having got the receipt for my Tesco delivery tonight, it’s out of stock. Hopefully you will have more luck.

AmbushedByCake1 · 04/06/2022 15:23

I'd fry myself a pack of halloumi and drizzle it in chilli sauce and eat it with a bottle of Cava.

MrsCakeBaker · 04/06/2022 15:31

Difficult decision!
I think it would probably be a hot seafood platter with garlic mayo and shoestring fries, or a saucy, cheesy, lasagne with the same.
I know lasagne´s hardly pushing the boat out, but it´s a favourite that I rarely make because no-one else likes it, so it´d be a real treat for me.
Or maybe steak pudding with cauliflower cheese and asparagus.

Cherrysoup · 04/06/2022 15:51

Olive bread, those filled sweet peppers and a selection of cheese.

melissasummerfield · 04/06/2022 15:55

Tesco finest chocolate mousse is the cats pyjamas!

purplecorkheart · 04/06/2022 15:56

The tescos near me are all fairly crap but if I had a good one nearby I woud go for things that I would throw into the oven and not have to worry about.
Ideally, chicken in a mushroom/red wine kinda of sauce. Thin french friend and maybe roasted veg.

NiqueNique · 04/06/2022 15:58

I always give the same answer on these threads! Even though I love food and have many, many favourites...

Half crispy duck and pancakes, all to myself! Wine or beer to go with it.

boatahoy · 04/06/2022 16:04

A Charlie Bighams curry and a nice cold bottle of fizz

MintyCedricRidesAgain · 04/06/2022 16:26

MummyInTheNecropolis · 04/06/2022 13:14

If money wasn’t an issue, I’d get a fillet steak, some ready made potato dauphinois and some fresh asparagus.

if I didn’t want a full meal, I’d just get lots of antipasti bits and some fresh bread and cheese.

I think I'd copy you!

Or if I was thinking less salubrious options...

BBQ rack of ribs with chunky chips
Or
Half a Crispy Duck & Pancakes

ElizabethinherGermanGarden · 04/06/2022 16:27

A baguette, real butter and a pot of potted shrimps with a glass of Chablis

ConfusedByDesign · 04/06/2022 16:30

I'd get indian takeaway, serve it up and watch a film.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 04/06/2022 16:33

My favourite meal for one is a jar of gigantes beans, with tsatsiki (made not bought), pitta bread and Greek salad.

Followed by a packet of fridge-cold Revels or Maltesers and a glass of pink fizz.

lljkk · 04/06/2022 16:48

Nice wine & a big bag of Doritos.
Maybe cherry tomatoes for "healthy touch"

Bluevelvetsofa · 04/06/2022 17:55

I wouldn’t go to Tesco either and if you want a ready made lasagne, Aldi is as good as Charlie Bigham and much cheaper.
