And had a blissfully peaceful night ahead without DP or dcs ......

What would you buy yourself to eat?

No calorie counting today, already had a comfort lunch of cheese & onion pasty & beans

So what can I go for?
What's your comfort Saturday night food?

Charlie Bighams lasagne and garlic bread.
or I’d make myself a luxury song bol with red wine in it.

or Mussels and chips with some fresh crusty bread for mopping.

MummyInTheNecropolis · 04/06/2022 13:14

If money wasn’t an issue, I’d get a fillet steak, some ready made potato dauphinois and some fresh asparagus.

if I didn’t want a full meal, I’d just get lots of antipasti bits and some fresh bread and cheese.

FionnulaTheCooler · 04/06/2022 13:16

A pizza from the pizza counter made to my exact specifications, no compromise on toppings with anyone, and a pot of sour cream and chive dip for the crusts.

TomAllenWife · 04/06/2022 13:18

Ooh nachos 😋
Don't really eat red meat so steak is out

A large ham and ricotta pizza (with plenty of tomato sauce for dipping!) followed by a chocolate trifle or Ben and Jerry's and some crispy M&Ms and Haribo for after snackies.

In reality I'm a low carber (because I ate too much of the above food 😂) so I'm living out my food fantasy

Pennyhill22 · 04/06/2022 13:20

Lamb cutlets
Homemade chips
Cheesy coleslaw
Beer battered onion rings

If I was planning on having a few drinks I would just get lots of savoury snacks, pringles, peanuts etc snd then have a crisp sandwich on my way to bed 😛

SantaMonicaPier · 04/06/2022 13:22

I would probably get a quality chilled curry and rice with sides. My favourite!

jackstini · 04/06/2022 13:22

Tapas and wine

Seafood - prawns/calamari, marinated chicken, frittata, olives/sun dried tomatoes/mozzarella with a lovely Chardonnay

Or lamb cutlets, roasted veg, chorizo bites, beef in red wine, rice and a good rioja

hugoagogo · 04/06/2022 13:28

Quiche, although not sure if tesco do a nice one? Sainsburys are horrible, can I go to m&s instead?

Sexnotgender · 04/06/2022 13:31

Nice bread, cheese, wine and crisps.

I’m easily pleased!

Needanotherholidayasap · 04/06/2022 13:33

Frozen half duck. A cucumber and some spring onions. Bag of prawn crackers..
Bliss.

BrieAndChilli · 04/06/2022 13:33

Baked Camembert and bits to dip in it

TomAllenWife · 04/06/2022 13:36

Omg so many great suggestions! I'll end up having 2 dinners at this rate 😂

I've eaten my body weight in cheese this week as been away with the dcs eating lots of naughty food

Falafel, hummus, olives, artichoke hearts, flatbread, sun-dried tomatoes, wine. I’d also get some posh crisps or twiglets and some sweets to snack on during the evening.

Enjoy your evening!

Georgeskitchen · 04/06/2022 13:45

Probably a tesco finest lasagne, garlic bread , and something involving chocolate and fresh cream 😋 👌

IsAnybodyListening · 04/06/2022 14:12

I'd possibly get a Tesco Finest meal deal for 2...think about £12? You get twice the dessert and a bottle of wine to yourself!

Crocky · 04/06/2022 14:18

I’d order a takeaway.

nutellingyou · 04/06/2022 14:18

Tapas and wine, all of the cheese, crusty tiger bread and a key lime pie Gu....

MrsLargeEmbodied · 04/06/2022 14:24

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 04/06/2022 14:26

Gin& tonic in a can
duck in pancakes

Trivester · 04/06/2022 14:27

Dessert would definitely involve fresh profiteroles

dalmatianmad · 04/06/2022 14:29

Crackers and cheese

SpiderinaWingMirror · 04/06/2022 14:42

I had half a crispy duck to myself a few weeks ago!
