Olaplex is it worth the money?

SausageDogNamedBrenda · 03/06/2022 19:47

My hair is dyed to within an inch of its life! Someone has suggested Olaplex.
I've had a look and there are so many different ones to choose from.
What is the best one to use? I just want a conditioner I think.
Has anyone got any tips? Is it worth the money?

Or can anyone recommend a good conditioner for damaged hair?
TIA

According to my hairdresser, as I asked her about it recently, no it isnt worth it unless you do it regularly which is really expensive

BeautifulBirds · 03/06/2022 19:56

I use pureplex from superdrug, it's 7 or 8 quid and cruelty free.

I think it's the same.

I also use the Superdrug one after using Olaplex previously & much the same considering the cost!

OhMaria2 · 03/06/2022 20:04

Olaplex number 3 is worth it but give it two or 3 goes for results.

changmynameasoversharing · 03/06/2022 20:13

i use 3&4 and defo noticed the difference straight away.

33% off on Look Fantastic if you do decide to invest!

Did nothing for my hair. Waste of money.

Haudyourwheesht · 03/06/2022 20:28

I've never massively found shampoo/conditioner to be worth a premium price tag. I've tried loads and never found them to be much better than Pantene/ herbal essences. May just be my crappy hair.

elephantbreathing · 03/06/2022 20:35

I love the shampoo and it definitely makes a difference. Use Wonder Water as conditioner though. That's the best combination for me I've found.

Pink3489 · 03/06/2022 20:37

Use number 1 and 3 together. They are the intensive treatments. 100% worth the money.

wineandsunshine · 03/06/2022 20:41

My hairdresser said it isn't worth spending the money either - she suggested once a week treatment.

Picatso · 03/06/2022 20:51

0 and 3 are life savers

theufointhe · 03/06/2022 21:27

Not worth the money. Try Philip Kingsley Elasticizer, it’s like a miracle on my v long hair

Same here.

GrandRapids · 03/06/2022 21:28

Crap, Definitely not worth it imo. I'd buy a decent conditioner from Boots, leave it on for a few hours then wash off. You'll get good results from that

DariaMorgendorffer · 03/06/2022 21:33

No. 3 saved my hair after bleaching it. My hair really responded to it, and it's worth every penny for me.
The Philip Kingsley elasticizer was nice but not amazing, and not worth the money for me. I like Aussie 3 minute miracle for moisturising. I think a lot of it is trial & error!

Benjispruce4 · 03/06/2022 21:36

Nope!

peanutbutter00 · 03/06/2022 21:37

I really like it, I try to use it once every 2 weeks and I have quite thin hair so it lasts for ages for me. It's a bond building treatment not a conditioner so if you're expecting silky smooth hair that's not really what it does, it does prevent breakage though. You still need to condition your hair after using it, I think some people think it's like a conditioning treatment so they don't get the results they expect

peanutbutter00 · 03/06/2022 21:38

Sorry, I'm referring to number 3 in my previous post

Innocenta · 03/06/2022 21:39

Try K18

Threebutterflies · 03/06/2022 21:48

Yes it’s brilliant . I use 0 then 3 . Then 4 and 5 . Then 6. Also it’s a repair treatment not a conditioning treatment . So now I alternate with a deep conditioning treatment .

poorpaws · 03/06/2022 21:55

I would never use anything else! I use the shampoo and conditioner regularly and I don't have to wash my hair as often as I used to. I use number 0 and 3 about once every six weeks. I also use the one for dry ends to hair number eight? And the oil. My hair has never looked or felt as good as this in my life and I am old. I get it from look fantastic and it's always reduced at least 20% off, sometimes 33% off.

I honestly couldn't be without it now. I bought some for my daughter for Christmas but she wouldn't use anything else either.

mindutopia · 03/06/2022 22:07

No experience personally but I have a friend who only washes her hair now with eggs. Sounds mad to me (obviously you have to do it in cold water!), but her hair used to be really damaged and it’s now so enviously gorgeous and healthy looking. I haven’t yet been brave enough to try.

Summer776 · 03/06/2022 22:51

I had and my daughter had it 4 months ago after both needed bleach on hair to remove home dye colour. Hairdresser said even if done once or twice a year helps hair condition and it really has. Hair looks and feels so healthy I don't know what kind sorry but do recommend d. Was £30 at hairdressers.
