Olaplex is it worth the money?

My hair is dyed to within an inch of its life! Someone has suggested Olaplex.
I've had a look and there are so many different ones to choose from.
What is the best one to use? I just want a conditioner I think.
Has anyone got any tips? Is it worth the money?

No 3 was great for me at first but by hair seems to have become immune to it now.
My hairdresser sold me some K18 and that seems pretty good though I don't usually like leave in products

I've had it done in hairdressers but at home I've used Superdrug Pureplex and that's amazing. A friend also used Pureplex after a rubbish hairdresser ruined her hair by stripping it to remove a one time box colour she did when hairdressers were closed.

It's £12.99 with several treatments in the box. You can also get an extra tube of the conditioner from the box, for £6.99

Number 3 was amazing for me the first time I used it but the next few it made my hair feel strange and heavy despite getting all the product out. I do like the oil and a little goes a long way but I don't think the price is worth it so when it runs out I won't be getting it again.

This is exactly my experience too, the first time it was a glossy dream but subsequently it made my hair feel kind of heavy, clumpy and dry.

K18 has been massively better for my hair than Olaplex, so far.

No 3 works brilliantly for my bleached hair. I alternate it with Philip Kingsley Elasticizer. The olaplex fixes hair structure to stop it breaking but isn't a conditioner so you need to condition afterwards. The PK elasticizer is a conditioning treatment that adds moisturiser.

I have a big tub of elasticizer but have to admit the garnier hair food masks work just as well so I'll probably swap to them when it runs out.

@warofthemonstertrucks @wellhelloitsme I had same experience. Doesn’t seem to do anything for my frazzled hair anymore, even tried slapping on loads of conditioner afterwards. Have consigned myself to blow dry for any special events and tying up/back for everyday. That tells me it’s more my drying technique rather than my hair because hairdresser can make it really smooth and shiny.

Has anyone seen this? Olaplex going through a massive lawsuit, women saying it causes thinning hair due to dangerous chemicals inside www.google.com/amp/s/www.independent.co.uk/life-style/olaplex-banned-infertility-controversy-b2283885.html%3famp

@User2344
I saw something about this on instagram but reading the comments a majority of them said that the woman probably used it wrong and that it's not for regular use/should only be used by hair professionals to treat the hair etc etc

My mum has used it sparingly and her hair seems fine

RebeccaCloud9 · 19/02/2023 04:45

The purple shampoo is amazing, I can notice a real difference in tone after each use (I use it once a month ish).

The best conditioners ever are the ones that come with hair dye - if anyone knows how to buy these without the dye I'd buy a truck load!

Benjispruce4 · 19/02/2023 09:10

The serum is good. Was a gift so no idea on cost.

MollyRover · 19/02/2023 10:44

Did you read it? 30 women seeking $75000. That's two and a half grand each. I reckon it's a storm in a teacup.

I like 0 and 3 and think they make a difference but it's such a faff to use that I don't do it as often as I'd like. Would love if there was a 30/60 minute treatment that I could just slap on and have a nice bath or paint my nails rather than having half of 0 drip off my hair during application (the bottle is just ridiculous) then having to time before putting putting on 3. My hair is in good condition if a little thin (always has been, more so following pregnancy) but I like to feel like I'm giving it a little treat for maintenance. Is the elasticizer easier to use?

I saw that - pretty scary
